Not as Good as Volume 1 but Still Worthy
As several other reviewers have stated, some of the photos in this volume aren't quite up to the standards of the first "Panther on the Battlefield Volume 1" (in this series), and most of the Panzerwrecks series. All have large-format photos that use an entire page, but I think the quality of photos in the Panzerwrecks series has spoiled many of us. I did a quick review of this volume and counted 47 photos that are either a bit fuzzy over-all or contain portions that are not in focus. But that's only 47 out of a total of 105 (and I was being EXTREMELY picky with my assessment of the quality of those 47). I believe that most of those 47 photos will still provide some useful information to the serious student of the Panther Tank and its use in WW II (which is probably why the author selected them). There WERE a couple of poor shots, but for the money I paid I didn't feel cheated. The vast majority of these photos were new to me and many come from private collections (never published before). There are 6 photos from the Normandy Campaign, one from Italy, 21 from NW Europe and Germany, with the rest (the vast majority) being from the Eastern Front, Poland and Hungary (with a few unidentified locations). So if you're an Eastern Front scholar you're in for a treat. Several of these photos show the same vehicle from numerous angles, which is also a treat if one wants to get a complete picture of a certain Panther for modeling purposes, etc.I have many other books on Panther Tanks in my personal library. Most of those include high quality photos, though not all as large as the ones in this volume. As I'm always looking for additional reference material I still found this volume to be worth the money I paid for it (regular Amazon retail price). So in spite of the other negative reviews, I give this book as many as 4 stars. Anyone who has access to decent, unpublished photos from WW II should be encouraged to print them so we can all benefit, in my humble opinion. Even though this book isn't the BEST collection of Panther photos in my library, I'm not sorry I purchased it. I'm sure that these large-format photos will prove their worth as I continue to do my WW II research. AND, should you be a newcomer, just beginning to acquire a WW II library of your own, I would highly recommend it. Many of the better quality reference books in my collection are now long out-of-print, exceedingly difficult to find, and extremely expensive if they can be found! Get this one before the same thing happens to it!

Great pics.
Not much to say. Captions suck. Pictures are great. Part of a complete collection!

Good, but...
Overly repetitive captions. Also, the pictures could have used some Photoshop help for clarity and exposure issues as Archer and Auerbach have done with those appearing in the Panzerwrecks series. Good source of never-before seen pics but there are better books out there on the subject matter.

nowhere near as good as Panther vol.1...
not as good as vol.1, by a long way, cos vol.2 has weaker photos, basically. There are more less-clear images, more from russian sources (=lower quality) and just less interesting subjects and less informative captions. Seems like its collected from images that werent good enough to get in vol.1, which i think was a 5star collection of photos and captions.
