I really like this tool. It came with an extra spring and has a little lock. But BEWARE, this tool is not for kids to mess with. It is very sharp and if not careful I could see this thing cutting a finger off! Adults too, be careful with these.

If you like to have fresh flowers in your house, like I do. This is a must had to keep them nice and fresh and trim them on a daily basis along with changing the water. Makes a huge difference. I was using scissors. What a nuisance. Great buy!!

So far, I am preferring these to other "higher end" hand pruners (e.g., Corona, Felco). They are sharp out of the box, and I am not seeing any of the black staining you get with those more expensive pruners. The steel stays stainless. The one regret is the lock. As others have mentioned, it could stand to be less sharp on the thumb.

the locking mechanism is very weak. hard to lock and easily slip open. sharper than the harbor freight stuff i used but not really ergonomic. one size fits all. no adjustment at all. not good for small hands.

I volunteer at a city rose garden and realized my bargain clippers had to go after using professional clippers. This unit makes routine home garden work a pleasure because of its clean cut and fit on the hand. Like the red handles because these stand out in the tool box!
