Nite Ize Steelie Orbiter Plus Magnetic Socket and Metal Ring - Car Dashboard with Magnetic Mount - Sturdy Dashboard Mount for Cell Phone - Black

I drive a 5th Gen 4-Runner, and have used a Nite Ize Steelie Orbiter phone mount for 5 or 6 years.I finally upgraded to a mag safe capable phone, and was considering a big purchase of a $150+ new phone mount.Then this magnetic socket popped up, a perfect match for my already existing Nite Ize Orbiter AC Vent mount. Instead of spending $150, I picked this up for a fraction of the price.It holds my Iphone 16 Max with no issues at all! Even some mild off-roading, it stayed secure without a problem.

From what I read many people say it won’t charge with the mag-safe charger attached to it so the metal ring that comes with the orbital is not needed. The product itself works great! Prior to this iPhone (non mag-safe) I had the suction cup and metal ball w the adapter you have to clamp around your phone. That was cumbersome and a little bit of a hassle. The mount didn’t hold the phone well and it pressed the buttons at times. The orbital stays on the ball and not your phone so taking it off and on is awesome! Also, if I need to run my power cord behind my steering wheel it’s not that big of a deal. Even if u go the mag-safe charging way you’re still gunna have a cord so with a lot of ppl saying it doesn’t charge w the metal ring attached I decided just to get the orbital.

I got this magnetic socket to use on my iPad and iPhone so they would work with the Nite Ize Steelie Pedestal Mount. This magnetic socket works well. The magnetic socket holds really well to the magnetic ring on my iPhone case, connecting my phone to the pedestal mount and holding it in place. I used the metal ring with adhesive that came with this magnetic socket on my iPad case so that my iPad could be used with the magnetic socket to connect to the steelie pedestal mount and that worked really well as well. I am please with the magnetic strength of the magnetic socket to stay connected to both the iPad and iPhone and the pedestal stand. I would definitely recommend this product.I used this with: 2017/2018 5th/6th generation iPad 9.7"

I use this with my magnet phone case and it works great. I use mine with the Nite Ize air vent clamp so I don't have a magnet constantly stuck to my phone case when I leave the car.I gave it 4 stars because the phone would "sag" if it didn't rest against my dash to keep it still. It works great for me though.

The orbiter is a game changer for the steelie mounting series. I love being able to mount and remove my phone with one hand. I have them in all my vehicles. Nothing stuck to the phone case so it can lie flat.

Best phone mount for an iPhone and possibly any phone. Holds my 15 pro fine even on bumpy gravel roads and when driving my lowered Miata aggressively. My favorite part is that when the phone isn’t on it, it doesn’t look like an obnoxious oversized afterthought on the dash.

I have used this product for years and have had many of the smaller magnets that attached to a little metal disc that you stick to the back of your phone Case. This one is a much bigger diameter, the size of the MagSafe charging on the back of your iPhone. It comes with a stick on ring, but you don’t need it. This magnet adheres to your iPhone with the perfect amount of force to hold it, but you can just lift it off and not have a metal thing stuck to your case. I love this and have bought several of them so that they are everywhere that I need them. The bonus is that you don’t have to have the magnet on your phone all the time but you can if you want so you can stick your phone to things like your car while you are working on it or anything like that. Great product.
