DAIKA Jar Sealer and Accessory Hose Kit Compatible with FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer for Wide-Mouth & Regular-Mouth Mason-type (with a Manual Portable Pump).

I dabble a bit in "hobby chemistry", and one important aspect of keeping chemicals is safe storage and minimizing contamination, including contamination from the moisture in the air.I keep many of my "bulk chemicals" such as Magnesium Sulfate and Sodium Hydroxide in mason jars for convenience, and have been looking for a way to improve this storage method. This is EXACTLY what I need, and it's SUPER easy to do. I put the lid on the jar, put the jar sealer on top, attach one end of the hose to the jar sealer, and one end in the accessory port of my vacuum sealer, and hit the "CANISTER" button. It takes about 5-6 seconds to vacuum down a jar. Then pull the jar sealer off and put a band on.It's that easy. And the vacuum is really strong, when I use my vacuum sealer. It takes quite a bit of effort to pry the lids off. I didn't use the hand pump because I don't need it, but it's nice to have "just in case".I'm going to start using this to keep my food fresh in mason jars, it works so well with my chemical storage. I HIGHLY recommend this.

Don’t pay attention to the reviews which claim it doesn’t fit over the jars correctly. Those people are trying to put it over the BANDS. Only use the LIDS. Duh!!! I pump manually somewhere around thirty to 50 quick pumps. Takes seconds and the seal is awesome, the lids are almost hard to get off due to the great suction. It upsets me that reviews from people not using it correctly bring down the overall rating. I bought this because I suspected the people who gave it bad reviews weren’t using it correctly. I’m glad I took the chance. There’s no need for the bands before or after using the suction sealer.

I had this set and found it so useful that I decided to order another "just in case." The lids work great with my Food Saver. But if the power goes out for any amount of time, you'll really appreciate the little hand pump and still be able to vacuum seal your mason jars. The only little negative is that the hand pump is a little difficult for older, arthritic hands. Overall though, a good tool to have in your kitchen.

ONLY reason for 4 out of 5 stars is because although this seems to work, it did take A LOT of hand pumping and for us older folks thats too tiring for our wrists and hands so we then went and purchased an electronic vac sealer for jars.

I'm constantly fidgeting with my FoodSaver brand jar sealer (the vacuum unit itself quit long ago) and much to my surprise this worked immediately and remarkably well.Gives a quick, and tight suction to large and small mason jars, far more vacuum than my other unit ever seemed to. The only thing I miss, the FoodSaver brand one has a vacuum release button on top that helps get the jar sealer and the vacuum sealed jar separated quickly, however this provides to much better performance I'll gladly do without it,.Works great and everything is well made.

We have had a window herb garden for quite a while but when we tried to store the dried herbs we often ran into problems with too high or too low humidity and they would either mold or crumble.We didn't want to invest into a Food Saver sealer but like the idea of vacuum sealing. When I saw this also included a hand pump I had to give it a try. It works wonderfully.Jars are sealed tightly and when we open it to use the herbs they are as fresh as when we sealed them. Even better we can then reseal the rest for later use.It works great with all Mason type jars whether using the regular lid and a 4 oz jar or the wide mouth quart size. I highly recommend this sealer.

My friend told me to buy because saves the vacuum sealer from using to much.She assured me I could do it “after I read the instructions “ so I read and she was correct.Once you attach the sealer and the hand pump in proper position it was very easy .I have Arthritis and could still use. You could tell when jar was sealed. Once attachment was removed the lid was sealed good.I’m old in age but learning a new trick having fun stocking up for winter.I purchased this only for the tops and hand pump as don't have a Food Saver product ,well worth the price.

Didn’t even know these existed. I read about them when researching different methods to try to preserve polyurethane wood varnish. The large cans are more cost-effective but end up going to waste when the solvent evaporates leaving unusable sludge. The small cans don’t fare much better and cost much, much more per ounce. People suggested placing unused portions in jars and vacuum sealing to extend shelf life. I chose this product over the official FS one since they appeared identical and the FS one didn’t include the hand pump and required a FS or similar machine. I had no trouble using this to seal a small test amount of varnish in a jar, and the results are very promising so far. Almost a month later and the sealed sample still appears very much, if not exactly, as it did when sealed. Optimistic that this may be the solution.
