Inspiring, lots of delicious drink and food recipes, lots of beautiful color photos
Ahhhh, whiskey... one of my favorites. When I drink, I almost always choose whiskey or bourbon. When I saw this cookbook, I had to have it! Any recipe that pairs well or includes whiskey is right up my alley! :)There is a wide variety of delicious recipes in this book - eggs, pork chops, fish, chili, brownies, soup and lots more! The recipes are divided into 5 sections:~Brunch,~Appetizers & snacks~Sides, sauces & dressings~Entrees~DessertsNot all of the recipes actually include whiskey. Some are only paired with whiskey so just keep that in mind. Some of the recipes are easy to follow while others are quite unique and somewhat extravagant. For that reason, this cookbook might not appeal to everyone. If you are more of a gourmet chef and appreciate trying complex recipes with ingredients that you don't always keep on hand, I would recommend it.Lots of big, delicious photos throughout the cookbook, too. (which is always my favorite part of ANY cookbook!!!!) I have seen cookbooks with hand drawn illustrations or without any pictures at all and I'm like whaaaaat?? Seeing the finished product is what makes me want to try the recipe in the first place!Specific brands of whiskey are used in these recipes. There are several distilleries referenced in the book which is where the brands come in. Of course, you can use whatever brand you like, just something to note.So far, I have tried the Bourbon Smokies and the Irish Whiskey Glazed Ribs. They all turned out well and were super delicious!

Great for whiskey enthusiasts!
This is a very nice looking book with great content inside as well! There are lots of great tid bits of information throughout the book and is broken down into:-Brunch-Appetizers & Snacks-Sides, Sauces, & Dressings-Entrees-DessertsThere are great pictures throughout the book with lots of great recipes as well! There are so many recipes that I will be trying over time. Quite a few of these recipes come as a courtesy of different distilleries so of course the recipes tend to call for that distillery's whiskey. I won't be buying all the different whiskeys to try the recipes and will just use what I have (bourbon, scotch, etc) that is called for and I'm sure that will work just fine! Some recipes just call for whiskey as part of the recipe and some have suggestions for pairings to go with the food.Overall, this is a great book and works well as a nice gift for your whiskey lover. It looks really nice and is set up on one of our console tables as part of the decor when not in use!

GORGEOUS COOKBOOK
This is easily one of the best cookbooks I have ever seen. It's a hardback gorgeous volume loaded with stunning photographs. You will most likely be wondering whether you will be cooking with whiskey used as an ingredient or pairing whiskey with your food. The answer is yes. Many of the recipes are courtesy of other people, many of them professional chefs. There are new takes on standard recipes. There are recipes you don't normally find in a cookbook. (Octopus, anyone?) There's a really broad range, and you are bound to find multiple recipes of interest to you. There are asides throughout this book which can best be described as articles; these are informative and interesting.Overall, it's an extremely impressive volume which is more than reasonably priced at its current price of $22.49.This book would make an excellent gift.Very highly recommend.

Great cookbook with recipes using whiskey or good to eat with whiskey
I like this cookbook a lot. There is a great into section with some facts and tidbits that make it fun. The recipes are generally pretty easy and complete, the pictures of the complete food are good and helpful to know what to expect, and the wide variety of options in it will be well suited for long time use. I like that each recipe also has a recommended whiskey to drink with it, and the recommendations I've tried so far are spot on. There's specific tasting notes on things like acidity in whiskey and food so you can go beyond the recipes in the book based on the information in it.It's good time for whiskey to get past just a sipping drink after dinner, these recipes elevate it to a nice drink to have with appetizers or in use in your cooking.

Beautiful presentation and interesting recipes
A beautiful book for those looking to elevate their whiskey game, The Whiskey Cookbook combines whiskey lore and history with a variety of recipes that either contain whiskey or pair beautifully with the alcohol. There’s food for all times of day, from brunch to dessert, and the suggestions come from distilleries and cocktail experts from across the country. It’s also stuffed with gorgeous photos of food for those who love to eat with their eyes. The page edges are even dyed a rich deep brown to mirror the oak barrels in which many liquors are stored. It’s a perfect gift for men or women and will be especially popular for birthdays, Father’s Day, a gift to a BBQ host, and the holiday season.
