If you accidentally bought it for your sony wh-1000 xm4
What happened is that the original hardware for my wh-1000xm4 had water damage in the usb type c charging chamber. I got this as a replacement to see if it would fix the issue of it not charging ( it did) and was looking back and realized it was for the xm3 the version below lucky with the same ribbon cable it fits fine a little snug but will still charge your xm4 fine. Great product honestly looks well made and better than the factory port.

Lasted 8 months using it once a week.
UPDATED REVIEW: Now I'm a bit frustrated. This part only lasted about 8 months only using my headphones when I mow my lawn, so really not for very many charges. Original review: This item fixed my issue where the headphones wouldn't take a charge. Before ordering this part I tried 3 different cords and 3 different chargers just to be sure. The red LED indicator for charging would only just flash maybe before going dark, or no LED at all. My headphones were giving a low battery indicator and after sitting on different chargers the battery level was the same... After installing this part the LED was lit and the headphones charged right up! I used my own tools, but besides the included pry tool and screwdriver you might want to have some tweezers handy to remove tape on the ribbon cable. There are some delicate looking wires in the headphones, but if you're halfway careful this is a very easy repair. I'm very glad this part was available and easy to replace, as my headphones were a gift to me and I really like them.

Perfect fit for Sony WH-XM1000XM3
It solved my problem with a headphones that didn't charge at all. Original module have had a MOSFET transistor shut but it was too small to figure out what it was or to replace it. So I'm glad that I found whole module. Quality wise it might have been just a bit better (soldering points) but it is working.

Nice little charging port
I bought the Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones when returning a pair of defective mid priced Beats from Best Buy online. I didn’t want to repackage and mail them back, so I brought them back to the Ithaca, NY store which is twenty minutes away. I got my refund or store credit and went over to the headphones in their electronics section and grabbed another pair of Beats to purchase. But standing near me was a man who worked in the electronics section who approached me and simply asked me to put on and listen to the Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones. So I did. I listened very carefully. My mouth dropped open to my chest as I was very surprised that headphones could have such excellent sound. I bought them and 3 years later, the charging port went on the fritz. I decided to at least try to save money by repairing them myself. Crazy notion, huh? Now New York State wants to make repairing our own electronics illegal, can you believe it? Which will probably make it impossible to get parts after it’s passed. I put the new charging port in, but I neglected to buy a flat cord and mine is shot to heck. I went back online and purchased the flat cord from Sony Access. This is a last ditch effort to try to make my headphones last a little longer before finding a new pair. I’m going to try to find a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones as I have read that they are superior to the XM5. I still hope to make my XM3 headphones last another year. I won’t be able to get parts for it anymore, and I was lucky that between eBay and Amazon I found the parts I needed. But going back to Sony Access I discovered that almost all parts for my headphones have been sold and not replaced. In the near future I am hoping that the WH-1000XM4 & XM5 will have the same parts. We’ll see. Good luck to all who do their own repairs.
