Love the cover on the bottom to keep the moisture on the counter out
I didnt know if i would like this or not because I couldn't get a good setting to grind with, but it was packed too full from the factory and when I ground some of the salt out of it and gave it a settling shake, it started to work just fine. Well, not too fine, but not too coarse...just right.

Seller: stopped working, & grind was too course, couldn't adjust to finer grind.
Purchased 3.. 1 f/ myself, 2 as gifts f/ sisters. 1 sis discovered that the grind is too course, salt grains too big & not fine/small enough, so food was too salty w/ it, no matter how she adjusted & tightened f/ a smaller finer grind. I recommended she tighten the silver knob on top, & I did same, but mine quit working @ all soon after. Was busy & didn't want the bother of an extra chore of contacting seller rt. then w/ this issue & potential chore of returning product. Now, it's surely too late... but grinder sitting here unable 2b used. When the pre-filled Him. pink salt ran out I re-filled w/ my own small course rocks in about same sz. (from Spice Labs). Now it won't grind @ all. I bought bc it was 1. attractive, & 2. a great solution, I thought..w/ the ceramic blades, f/ not contacting Himalayan pink salt w/ metal, which I've seen & read online you can't touch metal to Him. pink salt crystals or rocks or salt/sol'e water.. as contact w/ metal creates a neg. charge in the salt &/or somehow diminishes it's healthy effectiveness & healing properties. To substantiate this, I've also since purchased The Original Himalayan Pink Salt large rocks f/ making healthy healing Sol'e water, & it too recommends not touching anything metal w/ the salt rocks or the salt/sol'e water. You can't use metal measuring spoons w/ it, f/ ex. So, wondering if the metal stem inside this salt grinder above the ceramic blade negates the salt's positive properties when the salt comes in contact w/ it? TY, Seller or mnfg., f/ your reply.& 3. I trusted the positive reviews here, & wasn't expecting any issues.& I can't convince 1 sister, no matter what info I share, how many excellent, well researched links I send, what testimonies I share of people reviewing here who've used Himalayan pink salt & had lowered blood pressure as a result, no matter what I say to prove 2her that Himalayan pink salt is actually GOOD f/ YOU... Her Dr. has convinced her that salt is bad f/ you, & advised her to stay away from salt altogether, but he has surely never researched the distinction btwn. real Himalayan Pink Salt & normal de-natured table salt, which IS really bad f/ you! (bc it's been stripped & altered in a lab w/ all nutrients removed, & left w/ an imbalanced chemical mess that our bodies can't process, &don't need or recognize. I'm guessing hers is sitting untouched &a waste of money, too. Hav used my Nutri-Bullet to grind Him.pink crystals to a powder then put it in a salt shaker. (or pound it to a powder inside a thick plastic ZipLock bag, w/ a hammer, but that's not very efficient.) (haven't found a better solution yet to grinding w/out metal touching the crystals.)

Easy to use & to see salt level, excellent durable grinder, no mess on counter AND lasts for years!
This is my second exact grinder. The first one, bought in 2013, lasted over 7 years till ceramic grinding wheel started to pin freely and leaning left and right at each use. I like to see the salt level, and the grinder itself is strong. No grinder inversion is necessary. The new feature on this grinder is the clear “plastic” cap that clicks on to the bottom of grinder to collect and prevent any residual salt from falling on table or shelf after you use the salt grinder. That is brilliant: I had to put my 1st grinder inside a very tiny small low glass bowl to collect that residual salt. No more! I don’t like having to invert any salt grinder before I make the salt come out, plus this grinder allows me to see the beautiful pink Himalayan salt inside and its level at all times.

I was pretty ok with it until I saw Himalayan Pink Salt ...
I was pretty ok with it until I saw Himalayan Pink Salt for sale at wallmart's. How can anyone expect to feel superior if wallmart shoppers can use the same salt as we do? So, I guess, just like sea salt is so 2015, duh, and we wouldn't be caught dead using it, HPS, (Himalayan Pink Salt) as we call it, or use to call it, this will be my last mention of it, except to ridicule people who would try to be like us, HPS is so yesterday's salt. We are not letting the word out on what we're using today. They, wallmart shoppers, can see what we used in May, 2016, six months from now when it's available to them. Why don't they just stay with Morton's? (Is Morton's still a salterer?) Let them ride around in their cripple carts and eat Morton's. I'm so sure they can tell the difference.

Absolutely amazing salt for both cooking and seasoning at the table.
What I love most about this salt is that it's nearly impossible to over-season with it. I can literally crank three or four times on a single fried egg and the egg will still come out perfectly seasoned. That being said, the taste of the salt is absolutely amazing. Salts that I used in the past feel like they deliberately try to cling onto my palate after I consumed something that was seasoned with it. This salt performs excellently in bringing out the flavor in the dishes you'll create, but simultaneously assumes a very discrete position on the stage. Soups are more robust and gravies are more savory, but the thought never passes in your mind that "Hey, there was probably a lot of salt thrown onto this."With all that considered, we should finally look at price. I've been using this salt for the good part of four months now and I am only half-way down the grinder. For $15, this Himalayan salt and grinder is incredible value. Once you begin using it you will never look back. This is a no-brainer.

Best salt grinder I've had
I have gone through a lot of salt grinders in the past few years. The thing about this one that's different from those I've had in the past (which all broke) is that you change the grind with the knob on top. There are no metal pieces in the bottom that need to be able to turn. Our last one broke because the salt corroded the piece that needed to turn to change the grind size. The salt that came in this grinder was good until I got close to the last of it and I thought the grinder was going bad already. I was really disappointed. But when I opened it I realized that some of the pieces of salt were just so big that they couldn't be ground. I dumped it and filled it with my own salt and it's been perfect ever since! I am SO happy with this purchase!

Owned for 5+ years and still working great
We have owned, and used daily, this salt grinder for over 5 years. Everything is still working great. Very sturdy and definitely worth the price. I don't like to write reviews for items that get used, vs. books for example, until I've owned them a while to see how good they really are. Unless something arrives broken, everything will work the first week. So the true test is after really being used, and this is a good product and a good value.

Great tasting salt
Really nice and solid salt mill. It went rather quickly though, but I suppose that is because it was tasty.

Probably worth the price.
The product is what I expected. The grind is not consistent I have the knob at the top the tightest I can make it and still I get some larger lumps than what you would see in a fine grind. Hard to know if this is just the way a salt grinder works since I don't have another salt grinder to compare it too.I now have an OXO Softworks salt grinder. This is a much more solid salt grinder. It does make a much finer grind than the Aloha Bay Grinder. Its unfortunate this grinder is not sold on Amazon.ca. You can get it on the American web site and at other internet sellers. I can't understand why Amazon.ca is not selling it.

Great salt mill, love it.
Since I like the Himalayan salt, I was looking for something to store and use the bulk Himalayan salt I purchased before. This does the job well. It came well packaged with quick delivery.

Too coarse
Would be nice if the grinder could be adjusted to choose finer or more coarse grind. The salt comes out too coarse for my liking but nice looking grinder.
