African Black Soap is the only soap I use!
I have used African Black soap for many years. I became enamored with it while on several mission trips to South Africa. It is sulfate free, which I try my best to avoid with skin & hair care. I use African Black soap on my body and hair. Because it can be drippy and messy, I cut off approximately 1 inch piece and place in a natural sisal soap pouch. I use it to scrub my body and hair. The sisal absorbs the drips and "stores" for my next shower!

Good but a bit messy
2nd time buying the soap. Definitely good. Does make a mess and leaks so be mindful of that. Overall good soap, I'll be watching this time to see how our skin is affected.

Great for me
Everybody has different skin so this might not work for you: I have sensitive oily skin, the first week or two my acne felt like it got a little worse but after my skin getting use to it, I've quite literally never had my skin look so healthy. I pair this with beef tallow as moisture and witch hazel as toner. Just don't rub this directly on your face, lather it up in your hands then massage on your skin.

My skin is in love!
Lathers really well, good size which lasted me 3 months because I cut it into smaller sized bars and dissolved some to wash my hair with. Moisturizes my locs and skin really well. Lovely earthy scent. Good price. Will buy another soon.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND HOWRVER PLEASE READ PEOPLES REVIEWS ON HOW TO APPLY THIS SOAP.
So I just received my soap today after my coworker highly recommended it. I literally just used the soap during my evening shower and experienced similar feelings of what others have expressed with sensitive skin. However, I dont think it's a "sensitive skin" issue but more so that the soap does have sharp pieces in it so if you dont initially read up on how to use the soap...whether sensitive skin or not..you can get that burning sensation because literally you've scraped your skin with some hard pieces lol. How I initially applied the soap following instructions: I first rinsed my face (hot shower...maybe that was one of the issues based on another person's review), the piece was pre-cut into a bar soap size...I rinsed the soap and lathered the soap into a washcloth (maybe using a washcloth was the second issue because the cloth held some of the tiny sharp particles in it...not sure) then I applied to my face with a scrubbing circular motion (possible third issue...dont scrub your face too hard...simply lather it around), then I rinsed with the nearly hot water. My face immediately started to burn and it was noticeably red on my forehead, cheeks, around my eyes and nose. And I am an African American brown skin woman and my face was red. I rinsed warm water on a paper towel and applied it to my face to soothe the burning feeling, then gently rubbed raw shea butter on my face and my face is feeling much better. Washing my body with the soap was fine but my face I would definitely try a different way. Using a washcloth may not be the best, rather lathering to my hand and then lathering my face. And I will not be doing it in a scrubbing motion. My face suffers periodic breakouts around my "monthly" time but it leaves dark Mark's that does go away in time but takes quite long to go away. My skin is semi-sensitive...not majorly sensitive as I've tried several other soaps before and my face did fairly well. I'm excited for the results and WILL continue to try this. Definitely give it a try! Best wishes..

Im still in Disbelief That This Happened!
This is not a Review to bash all African Black Soaps.Im only giving my opinion of “Raw African Black Soap”.This is one Black Man’s Opinion.Getting straight into it.I use Dudu Osun as the black soap of choice.I swear by it due to the thorough clense I get on my face and body. I decided to switch it up and try the “Raw African Black Soap”.The first couple of days of using this soap was pretty good. It produced a nice lather on my rag, and I did not get that burning sensation that most black soaps give on my skin. However, I did not feel as clean as with the Dudu Osun. After the third day of use, something weird happened. I washed with the rag and felt it cut my skin. This was probably due to the plantain or hard ash breaking off into the rag.Immediately, skin irritation erupted . I felt the hairs on the right side of my stomach raise in disbelief. After letting the water and steam hit on my skin for a moment , irritation reduced and my skin returned to is normal state.I decided to stop using this black soap because of its abrasiveness. Everything RAW is not always a good thing.I appreciate the fact that it did make my skin feel soft and did not notice the burning sensation, but the plantain cuts like glass and I can’t have that.Dudu Osun is a main stay forever. It smells greatit cleans thoroughlyIts not abrasiveIt keeps my skin soft with its added ingredientsAlso the “lime +lemon” has anti bacterial properties wherethe “Raw African Black Soap” does not.Side Note: The burning sensation that everyone cries about is normal in most Black Soaps. If your not use to it, give it 5 secs and wash off. Your skin will have to build a tolerance for it.
