Q: The control box flashes 'rES' and is unable to raise or lower. I have tried unplugging the power source for > 30 seconds, but the msg still persists?

Here is how to reset your desk if it stops working. 1.Unplug the power for at least 30 seconds. Plug the power cable back in. 2. The readout should say res, push the down arrow to the desk moves all the way down. Keep holding, the desk will move up slightly then back down. At this point the height readout should show again. 3. Some say you have to do the same thing with the up arrow but I didn't have to do this.

Q: Do the top piece seams create any issues? There appear to be 4 pieces that make the top instead of 2 or even just 1 solid piece.

The top comes in 2 pieces - they are connected with dowels, much like a dining room table insert - I had the same concern you have, but I can confirm there are no issues - you won't even know it's there - it's well behind where your keyboard will be placed and it's a smooth connection - don't let it bother you ; )
