Order of Darkness Volumes I-III: Changeling; Stormbringers; Fools' Gold

This is a really fun and interesting series. It’s rather light reading compared to lost Phillipa Gregory books.

Probably I prefer the novels with more historical data peppered in with the story. However, it is always a pleasure to follow her excellent writing & to permit PG to give us a look into a past we might not otherwise know.

I loved this book so much, because it was so thought provoking and fun to read. I'm thinking the ending could have been more dramatic, but I kept turning the pages throughout. I truly love Philpipa Gregory's fiction books better than the historical one's. I think she is an amazing story teller and I hope she continues to write more fiction.

I am a big fan of this author. Pretty sure I have everything she's ever written and with good reason. The only thing I didn't like about this book was that it was too big for me to comfortably put in my purse and read on the plane while traveling. I had to wait until I got home to read it. It's really three books in one. I'm old, so my hands got tired holding the book. That was my only criticism but not worth eliminating a "star" for.

Phillippa Gregory is my favorite author so I gave this series a try. Not my favorite. After her adult novels, this one fell short for me. Its definitely targeted towards a younger audience. It’s pretty slow at first because the rest of the series has to be setup. The main plot line of each volume is pretty simple and left me thinking, “that’s the end of the book?” But it is still very well written! I don’t regret reading it or purchasing it. I’m reading the 4th volume now and look forward to seeing where the book and series plot line leads me.

Better than I expected. I love everything she writes and this is no exception. I read the entire first book in just a couple hours- I couldn’t put it down!

This series is one of my wife's favorites.She has now started reading them to me which is both a nice way to spend time together and to share a book. I really am enjoying vol.1 and look forward to all of them.

A good historical story line with an interesting set of characters. Kept me wanting to read more which is always good.

Plus this book is a quick read for how thick it is.

I really enjoyed this trilogy, rolled into one book. The characters are well defined and I found myself caring what happened to them! It was interesting, fast paced and shone a spotlight onto those faraway times. Recommended reading.

As soon as I've finished I'll give you a complete review. I'm about 1/3 through, and as usual with Ms. Gregory's works, I am totally engrossed and totally immersed in Order of Darkness. So far, A++.
