I'm a Ballerina Now

If you have a little aspiring Ballerina, it is really great way to expose kids to what ballet is about so that way once your child will go to the ballet class for the first time they will be a PRO! It takes away the intimidation of the new real life experience.The older kids who are taking ballet classes can supplement their skills from this DVD, they can easily follow the instructions and do step by step progress with it.Overall fabulous simple and very very useful.Totally worth the money!

My 5 year old loves this delightful DVD, in fact she's watching it again right now! It reminds me of the ballet classes I took growing up. The focus is on developing techniques with their proper French terminology, and the singing instructions are sweet. I also appreciate that the children are dressed fairly modestly and don't dance provocatively or in a flashy manner. I bought the DVD because my daughter loves dancing and I wanted to introduce more physical activity into her homeschool day.

I got this for my granddaughter who is almost six years old. She likes it but she quickly loses interest. Maybe she'll like it more as she gets older.

This DVD is an excellent practice aid to a beginning ballerina. The words in the music tell the dancer what to do and the child demonstrator shows the movement along with the rhythm. Each practice move is titled and the DVD moves in segments, practicing each movement - tondue, relevay, pase, pas de chat, chase, etc. Each segment has a real ballerina dancing through for about 5seconds giving inspiration. The demonstrating child dancer uses a bar for some movements. The middle stretch has them doing the movements of real dancers lying on their backs, thereby keeping the child safe and still getting the movement - high kicks, knee raises, etc. What I like about this video is that it's not expensive, it's primarily one demonstrator, the words for the movement are not from an instructor but rather are the words above the lovely piano music. My four year old loves to dance with it and it moves at just the right pace. I highly recommend this for anyone introducing ballet to their kiddo.

Now with all the quarantine we’re experiencing and my granddaughter can’t attend her dance lessons.... we brought the lessons to her! She follows the instructor and sets aside her “dance lessons” daily now. Didn’t know something so simple and inexpensive would bring such smiles and giggles not to mention dedication!

Got it for my granddaughter. When I ask her if she is using it, she does not comment about it. It is my guess, it does not keep her attention and not what I had hoped it would be for her to be introduced to ballet.

My daughter is 6 and has taken ballet for 3 years. They haven’t moved beyond the first three positions so she’s not super advanced but she’s also not a beginner. I wanted a video to do at home while we are socially isolating - this is PERFECT. A little more challenging than her current class level and that’s fine.

My 8 year old daughter loved this DVD. Without any previous classes, she was able to do most (around 80%) of the steps well. I love how the music also has a vocalist explaining the steps. My daughter wants to do her ballet DVD every day now. I feel this is a good preparer for her since she’ll be taking a real ballet class in a few months. Wonderful DVD at a great price. I would definitely recomend.
