Excellent Battery
I purchased this to have a backup for when I was conducting long shoots. I have found that I typically do not use both batteries on most shoots. Actually, I've found that I will fill up 40gb worth of SDHC cards before I switch out batteries when I'm shooting RAW+JPG on my Nikon D7000 . Nikon gives a couple of different ratings for how many shots you can get on a full charge with this battery. Testing according to the CIPA standard show this battery can take 1,050 shots on a single charge. Under these test conditions the room temperature is 73.4 degrees Fahrenheit (+/- 3.6 degrees). A Nikon 18-105mm lens is used. The focus is moved from infinity to minimum focus and a shot is taken every 30 seconds. The on board Speedlight flash is fired every other shot. This does not use live view. Nikon's own test conditions yield much better numbers per charge. At 68 degrees Fahrenheit with a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII lens and an image quality of JPG basic, medium. The shutter release is pressed halfway down and the focus is cycled from infinity to minimum range three times. Six shots are taken in a burst at 1/250 of a second shutter speed. The LCD monitor is then turned on for five seconds then turned off. This is repeated once the exposure meter has turned off. Nikon's own test conditions yielded approximately 4,500 shots per charge. This truly incredible. I have easily taken more than 800 to 1000 shots on a charge. A big part of the number of shots I get is how much I review them on the LCD. This is the largest drain of power. Even though this battery has an amazing life, I would suggest picking up a second. If you have two batteries you should be able to charge both the night before a big shoot and then when you swap them out, place the empty one on the charge. In about 2.5 hours, the empty battery will be refreshed. If you are not shooting 800 photos in 2.5 hours, you should be fine. If you are shooting that many photos or anywhere close to it, you should consider having two or three spare batteries and a Nikon MB-D11 Multi-Power Battery Pack that takes AA batteries in a jam. Overall, I would recommend you purchase at least one spare to keep in your bag. Its great to have when you need it and there is nothing more disappointing than not being able to take photos when the moment happens. -Cheers!

This battery is a work horse
This is a great battery to use and own. Matter of fact, I own 4 of them. By day, I'm fashion photographer. One the weekend, I shoot my neighbor's girls volleyball team with my Nikon D800 when I have time. The volleyball games usually start at 7:30 AM, and depending on if the team wins a lot of loses, the games can last from 4PM or until 8PM. On a typical day, I can shoot well over 900 images, Raw + JPEGs. A fully charged battery can usually last me until about 5PM, depending on how much I shoot. If the games go very long, then I usually have a spare with me. This battery is really a work horse. I own 4 of them, because one is always in my camera. And one is always being charged in an outlet. I shoot in studio and outside, so I keep the other two in my carry bag for when I shoot outside with my backup camera, which is also a Nikon D800. Once depleted, these batteries take nearly 2 and half hours to recharge. I've had 2 of these batteries since 2012 and they are still going strong and I'm very pleased with them.

Great Battery Life for My Nikon D7000
I've had my Nikon D7000 for a few weeks and decided to purchase a spare/backup battery. I have learned from previous experiences to purchase real Nikon batteries. From my research over the Internet, Amazon had the lowest price and it took about 4 days to arrive at my doorstep. So far, I have taken roughly 700 pictures on a single charge. I use my LCD display a lot to verify/check settings and the composition of pictures taken. I'm sure if I spent less time previewing, I would have a longer battery life. I'm not complaining as 700 pictures is a lot for a single battery charge in my opinion. My battery fully recharges in under 2-1/2 hours. You can't go wrong getting this real Nikon EN-EL15 battery. I am happy with my purchase. I will be back to post updates on the number of pictures taken on a single charge. ** Update 07/10/11 ** This battery took over 1400 pictures on a single charge. I mostly used non-VR lenses about 80% of the time and didn't use the LCD monitor as much as I did when I first got the camera. This battery exceeded my expectations. ** Update 07/16/11 ** Third battery charge and I took over 1300 pictures! Awesome! ** Update 08/21/11 ** I'm consistently averaging over 1200 pictures per battery charge. I've noticed after fully charging a battery and storing it in my camera bag, that it will lose about 3% of the charge until I get a chance to use it.

seems to perform exactly like a Nikon battery for roughly half the price
I suspect these batteries are knock offs. The box and the battery have holograms but, the box is just slightly crude and the battery tip protector is just a little bit different from that on the battery that came with the camera. But, it works precisely the same in the camera, saying "new" battery, with 0 age, and the correct amount of charge left. There are other slight differences on the back of the battery. My original battery said Li-ion01 and this one says Li-ion 2, etc. But, what I want is something that performs the same in the camera, and this by all counts so far, fits the bill. I bought another EN-EL15 Clone on Amazon that was 2 for $23. These simply would not power my D7000 so I had to return them. This battery, on the other hand, seems to perform exactly like a Nikon battery for roughly half the price. Good enough for me.

Great, long-lasting battery
I purchased my camera a couple of years ago and use it regularly. It is not uncommon for me to take hundreds of pictures in one day. With my the battery that came with the camera, if I started with it fully charged, I would be able to use it for several days without a recharge. It is the longest lasting camera battery I have ever had. I decided to pick up a spare because of planned photo outings this summer, and decided I should go ahead and test this battery once I received it. It looks and behaves identically to the original battery that came with my camera, and after realizing yesterday that I had forgotten to turn the camera off after my last use, I found out the battery had lost very little charge. I am completely happy with this battery and highly recommend it.

perfect, worth the money
Perfect back-up battery. Looked at a lot of after market batteries for my D7200. Finally just decided to bite the bullet and buy this one bc I know what I'm getting. Many reviews on the after market ones said that after a couple hundred pictures the battery would die or it wouldn't hold a charge in the camera bag. I needed one that would last and I could rely on. Glad I spent the money. Shipping was fast and packaging was great, no fear of damages.

Stellar Performance
The original genuine Nikon batteries are actually worth it, unlike some of their other accessories (example: D800 battery grip MB-D12 for $350, D800 cable remote cable release for $100). I've put them through 2 years of usage in my D7000 + 3rd party battery grip, I've run them down to 0% charge and recharged them, and I've left them in the camera in sub-freezing temperatures. Typically I usually get ~800 photos off of one battery in my D7000, given my settings and usage (LCD time on, meter on duration, etc.), autofocus for practically all of my shots. As an extreme case, I've used two of these batteries (with one in the battery grip) for some night time lapses on Mauna Kea, which typically reaches below 0 Celsius at night. My settings were 30 sec. exposures, ISO 6400, image review off, 33 sec. intervals, and I was able to take 1400+ images with both batteries. Pretty amazing considering the cold temperatures.

Amazing battery life
About two weeks ago we went to the Chino Hills AKC dog show. I took 1186 photos with a D600 camera, approx 35% with flash use. At home I checked the remaining battery life in the menu, and I had 49% remaining. Once I tested the accuracy of the "estimated battery life" and I found it extremely accurate. Since I have a spare, I was willing to drain the battery down to 1% of capacity remaining. Then I started random shooting and I was able to get 12 more frames before the screen went blank on me. My take is that with a spare on hand, and going easy on the flash, someone could take 4-5000 photos in a single day before being forced to do a recharge at the end of the day, when on vacation. By the way we have a Nikon D70, eight years old, and the 2 batteries of that older camera still hold their charge as good as when they were new. On the other hand the tiny batteries in our Nikon Coolpix, only 2 years old, keep losing the charge now only after about a 100 frames. When they were new they would last for maybe 200 photos, that's why we have 3.
