Unisex UV Hat - UPF 50+ Sun Protection - Windom

Actually, I had thought about inventing a product like this but now I can just buy it. I like that you can wear whatever hat and sweat band you want and keep the sun off your neck. This is lightweight and they've done a good job of making the head band stay in place without being too tight. I wouldn't mind having an optional and adjustable piece where you could connect the lower ends around your neck on windy days.

I got this since I recently started a job where I will be working outside. I wear this with a baseball cap and it works great to protect my neck and ears from the sun. I also wore it sailing and have already been asked where I got it, since it worked so well for sailing. This works much better than other sailing hats I have tried which don't fully cover your neck and ears, like this hat drape does. My head is on the larger side and it is a little tight on me, but not too bad. I already bought a second one, so if one is in the wash, I have another available to wear.

I've been using this product under a bike helmet in hot weather. Well made. Really helps to reduce sun exposure. Noticed after an hour and a half that I had a headache from the strap. It would be great if a velcro tab made it adjustable for different size heads.

Soft fabric, like wearing a fine pair of panties on your head. Comfortable without a hat, unlike some which come with a drawstring - soft elastic headband stays where you put it. Extra excellent to douse in cold water on a hot day, nice and cool on the neck when doing yard work

I originally purchased this so I could get additional sun protection under my bicycle helmet for long touring rides (day after day of exposure). This is perfect, as I don’t have to worry about fitting my helmet over a full cap - I can use without adjusting. It’s super easy to remove and store until needed. Provides cool protection without adding bulk. Best surprise? I bought for cycling… duh… works just as great under a regular hat without adding bulk. Thinking about buying a second - one with my cycling gear, and one for my hiking gear! 🤨

Many hats that include a drape use a woven nylon fabric that is not as soft and is noisy to wear over your ears. This product is very soft and quiet and wicks sweat well. Easy to forget you are wearing it. The 12 inch length is generous enough to fully cover the neck down past a crew neck collar with no worries about a gap even when moving around. In a car, you can shift it to more fully shade the window side of your face. However, it cannot be worn backwards as a face mask comfortably. A neck gaiter provides better coverage when pulled up, but is more confining and hotter. I use either depending on the situation.
