Was interested in this and saw was good for hands messed up by alcohol sanitizer; my son can't use any product with alcohol on his hands. Confussed???

There are many hundreds of drug and cosmetic ingredients with the word "alcohol" in their names. These break down into 3 basic categories, depending on how many carbon atoms they contain and how they are grouped together, which are basically drinking, rubbing and waxy alcohols. The "drinking" and "rubbing" categories of alcohols can be very drying. The "waxy*" category of alcohols have quite the opposite effect as the other two. These waxes can be found in nature as coatings on leaves and stems of plants, and prevents the plant from losing excessive amounts of water. Gloves In A Bottle and Skin MD Natural do contain waxy alcohol but are 100% free from all "drying" varieties of alcohols. * A wax is a simple lipid** that is a long-chain alcohol. This alcohol may be made up of 12-32 carbon atoms. ** To keep your skin healthy and functioning properly, your body produces natural oils, moisture and ** lipids. PLEASE NOTE: Anytime anyone who has problem skin, or any allergic reaction concerns, when using any skin care product or applying any other substance for the first time, it is always highly recommended to first only try it on a 1 inch square patch of skin just below and inside the left elbow (that is where the skin is the thinnest), then wait at least 12 hours to see if there is any adverse reaction before applying it more liberally.

Are these 2oz bottles paraben-free? (No propylparaben or methylparaben)

Those ingredients are not listed on the bottle, or anything that ends with paraben, so I would guess they are paragon-free.

how much do you have to use for each application and how long will a 2 oz bottle last? and also will this come off when you wash your hands?

Like 1/4 teaspoon depending on size if your hands. I use it for waitressing job, where my hands are constantly wet, I apply it 1-2 times a shift (6 hours), it already lasted me a month and the bottle is far not done. The creamy part comes of when you wash hands, but it does bond with your skin and protects it for many hours before it naturally exfoliates.

Soft hands!!

My favorite lotion in the winter. Keeps my hands nice and soft after having to constantly wash them. Doesn’t feel great at all which is a bonus, you only need a small amount to go a long way. I do wish it had medication in it to help with severe dry hands but other than that a nice lotion to keep on the go.

Not helpful for me

I have really dry skin on my fingers and around my nails. I wash my hands repeatedly during my 13+ hour long shifts. Since I work in healthcare, this product was appealing. It’s okay. The small bottle fits in my scrub pocket so I can carry it with me during my shifts; it’s non-greasy and has no noticeable scent; it didn’t irritate my skin; but it didn’t really do much to reduce or soothe my skin dryness. For my skin needs, it wasn’t worth the cost. It might be better suited for people that are already battling dry skin issues.
