I didn't want to spend a lot of money on fancy rain pants for my trip to Iceland. I live in the desert southwest, so rain is rare here, and I won't be using rain pants often! These were perfect for me. I was able to get a shorter size, too. They REALLY kept me completely dry and warm during a very wet, blustery trip - waterfalls, hail, snow - fine! I got a size larger than normal because I needed to wear these pants over leggings and regular pants. That gave me extra warmth, too. Even on dry days, these rain pants were perfect for keeping me warm and protected from the bitter cold, high velocity winds. If you need rain pants for a warm climate, perhaps these may be too warm.By the way, my sister who accompanied me on the trip, was looking at $100+ brand name rain pants until I told her about these. She quickly pivoted to this deal. We both had a great experience in these rain pants - and we saved a ton of money. That's a good thing, because Iceland is very expensive!

These pants worked perfectly during my trip to Norway in the late spring. They are lightweight, so don't make you too hot, yet are very good quality. They kept me very dry in a light rain for over an hour. They are easy to put on and take off because of the velcro and zippers. The pockets are useful. They fit me perfectly (I am 5'5" and 150 lbs. and I ordered a Large Short based on other reviews.) They are very reasonably priced as well. I am so glad I got them and will probably wear them around home a lot more than I had expected.

Edit: the Large pair arrived, and got its first rain test. I stayed completely dry. 20 minutes into a garage meeting, I noticed the water was *still* beaded up on my pants, didn't soak in at all.If these were available in Ice Grey, like the jacket, I would buy a second pair because I need either white or off-white rain gear when I work at racetracks (cars). It's a safety issue.The rest of my original review still stands. Still only 4 stars because the pants do not have a fly, and the waistband does not stretch big enough to fit over the maximum hip measurement:----------------The construction is good; however, I had to return them, because these pants run smaller than the chart states.I ordered Medium. The size chart says 46" hips. Flat measure of the pants I received was 44.5". With the waistband max stretched, I had to struggle to get it past my 40.5" butt.Reordered in Large.Ignore the Amazon my-size suggestion. It suggests a Small (43.8" hips) will fit my 40.5" butt. If the Small waist really is 2.8" smaller than the Medium, it would be flat out impossible for me to pull them up any higher than my thighs.Is the fabric noisy? Yup, but I'm not planning to sneak up on any bears, so rain protection is my first concern.

This pants are excellent at keeping you dry!! Iceland over layers for warmth and rainy spring hikes over shorts….these pants have kept me nice and dry. I definitely recommend!! The fit for L is a bit tight around my upper thighs when I first put on, but when I tried a XL the jump up was quite a difference in size and way too big, so I stuck with the L. Once I get moving, the pants fits just fine including over layers (such as jeans) which is what I was most worried about. The two side pockets are very deep and kept my phone dry. The bottom of the pants also fit over boots well and have the ability to tighten to prevent snow getting in, etc. The look is nice with the wide pant, but you will swish as you walk.

Bought these pants for Iceland. We stayed completely dry under the waterfalls!

Fabric and color were great. But seems a pain to try to put on if you are out in the woods and it starts to rain. Would prefer total leg zip and tabs at waist, so you don’t have to figure how to take off boots in order to put these on.

I love my rain pants! Lightweight yet very effective. I use them with my rain poncho and waterproof boots. Makes walking my young dog on rain less gruesome.

I am 5’4, 145 pounds and I ordered the Medium Short. They for perfect. I bought them for a trip to Alaska because I want to layer. There is plenty of room under to wear a pair of jeans.
