Great bike for the money
UPS gets one star for delivery. But the bike finally arrived today.Assembly is not that difficult. The only problem is that the manual is not made for a partial assembly. You will have to adjust the handlebar after you put it in. Don't mess with the gears or brakes, just adjust the angle of the entire handlebar. Getting the front tire on is pretty standard. You will have to undo the wire by the front brakes... push it in to release (just watch a youtube video if you can't figure this part out). The rest of the assembly (seat and pedals) is a piece of cake. There's a black horseshoe shaped metal piece that other reviewers have mentioned. It is a gear guard... don't really need it. Just get a kickstand for the bike.Bike is SOLID. And looks great. My only complaint about the bike is that the gear shifters are really hard to turn and are not very smooth shifting. I'm aware that it's a $200 bike and I am hoping this will improve over time so I will keep my review at 5 stars.

My 10 year old is obsessed!!
Got this for my daughters 10th b-day gift. She LOVES IT!! She is learning gears and hand brakes! My husband assembled it. It seemed daunting and I’m glad he is inclined to be able to do it . It arrived in a huge box that shows what it is so if your getting it as a gift beware if they see the box they will know. The only complaint is that she said it hurts her butt. We may end up getting a more padded seat if she doesn’t get used to it first. lol

Worth the Price But Not an Amazing Deal
All in all it's a good buy and my daughter is very happy with it.You do need some bicycle wrenching experience, not much. If you have none, or a friend with some, it's not for you. Go old fashion and buy form your local bike shop.1. The V brakes were set a bit open probably to make it easy for the non-experienced to mount the wheels. However, this also means a long pull on the break lever before the break pads bite. I adjusted the cable on the V brake or there is a tiny screw in each lever that can help with that and also bring the lever closer to the handlebar for kids with smaller hands, you just need to know about it. The adjustment is easy if you are experienced but if not. Well, it's your kids breaks.2. During the first moderate climb (even for a kid) the handle bar rotated backwards inside it's clamp (not sideways relative to the front wheel). I recall double checking it while assembling the bike but still took the blame and tightened it as hard as I could with my multi tool that I always have with me. A few days later, after a somewhat harder climb I noticed the same thing. This time, after getting back home I tightened it with a full size wrench as hard as I could without destroying the thread. So far so good but again, if you don't have bicycle wrenching experience, well it's your kids steering.3. The shifter of the front chain rings (left side) is on the low quality side. It has no numbers making it a bit challenging to teach a kid how and when to shift the front chainrings. Also, after a few rides the front derailleur needed a slight adjustment which is very typical to any bike but when you buy online you don't have the local shop who will do it for you for free. Again, it's a nothing if you know how to do it.All in all it's a good bike, worth the price and way better then what you will find in the department stores.Personally, if I'd have to buy a kids bike again, I'd spend another $100 and get something slightly better. And, if you don't have some bicycle wrenching experience, I'd advise going old fashion and buying form your local bike shop. But, please don't tell that to my daughter, she is very happy (and safe after minor adjustments) and that is all that counts.

Terrible instructions but nice bike
We just received the bike yesterday. The instructions are a joke! The technical writer should be fired!!!! If I had half decent instructions I could of assembled it in no time but because of the lack of, it took much longer than it should of. I’m pretty put off by it because its a simple thing to include with a bike you have to put together yourself. I would give it 0 stars for this if I could. The bike itself is great. So far so good. No complaints and it looks nice. If that changes in the future I’ll update my review.

Daughter's first gear bike doesn't break the bank
I get a little nervous about buying big items online but this was a great purchase. The packaging efficiency is amazing. I can't believe how they fit a bike into a box that size. I had already read reviews before purchasing so I knew to make sure the handlebars/forks were oriented appropriately. I was also prepared for sparse assembly instructions, but my cursory knowledge of bike components was sufficient enough for success on the first attempt. It didn't take long and my daughter was riding it within 30 minutes. For such a reasonable price I'm very happy with the purchase. Happy kid = happy parent.
