Gentlemen I work for was buying these for his loved one at the big box store. But was paying 100.00 for a box of same amount. I found these and he figured we’d give them a try. My daughter does eat by mouth because she has a g-tube, so oral care with some sterilized water/breast milk is necessary for her condition. These oral swabs are nice, cheap & get the job. They’re not as firm as the ones at the hospital, but as long as you’re keeping up with their care it won’t be necessary.

This is a good product itself however my son wouldn’t open his mouth wide enough for me to get his whole tongue clean with these. Maybe a tad big for his mouth. They did clean the parts of his tongue it could reach. We have well water so I just poured bottle water on it squeezed it out and brushed his tongue. Worked well though.

My daughter does not eat by mouth and these are great to keep her mouth moist and we also use to help after brushing teeth to administer mouth moisture wash.

Unfortunately I only ended up using 10 of these before my grandma passed... The hospice had been providing a few mouth swabs, but we were going through them too fast and they couldn't bring enough.The official mouth swabs from hospice were a little more dense/firm but otherwise looked and behaved identically. As these have a plastic stick, they don't deform rapidly in water unlike the ones with paper sticks. We used them to not only clean her mouth and tongue a bit, but also to get rid of the thick white spit and sputum that was accumulating in her mouth when she was unable to swallow. It also helped to provide relief to her dry mouth and lips when she was mouthbreathing. I dipped them in electrolyte fluid so they'd have a slightly sweet and pleasant taste. They were useful right until the very end, we were using them to ease her discomfort.
