Fragrance from the Spice Markets
Serge Lutens is one of those renaissance men in France. He has been involved with fashion, cosmetics, fragrances, photography and film.His interest in fragrance seems primarily in recreating the spice markets of the middle and far east. It has a real romance quality to it and the aura of forbidden lands and lives.I have always felt that fragrance is for you rather than others and it should have it own signature.This one certainly does.With this, I can hear the sitars in the background.It is a scent that is marketed for both Men and Women.It's complexity adds to its allure but it is above all spice: Sandalwood and Cocoa (not chocolate).It also last a long time on your skin and sends you on a journey every time you wear it.

strong pleasant smell that last
I am a novice in perfume so I can only describe the smell in layman terms. Bought over 40+ colognes in the past 6 months and this Serge Lutens Santal Majuscule is top 3 for me. It has a rich pleasant soothing sandalwood like fragrance. I spayed it on my arms and sleeves at night and still smelled it the next morning. It stayed more than a day on my shirt and I loved it. It is listed as unisex, but it is not flowery to be too feminine. I would also love this smell on my wife. First cologne of its smelled that I bought so I don't have other cologne to compare, but I started searching for other colognes that smells like it.

I received the wrong one........the Vitriol d'oeillet instead of santal one.......what happened.....

The dry down is delicious.
The opening smells like maple syrup which I don’t like too much but if you give it time it develops into a creamy vanilla that lasts about 7 hours on skin.
