Most girls with curly hair I know don't wash it daily like many straight-haired girls do. As a straight haired mom, I had to learn how to care for my curly headed children. I learned that washing curls everyday can really dry them out and curls look better when washed once a week or less even. However, teenagers and young adults can put a lot of product in their hair on a daily basis, combined with daily scalp sweat from exercise, and can generate quite a bit of build up on the scalp and hair. Moisturizing shampoos are great for hair texture but don't get rid of scalp build up, and clarifying shampoos, many of which contain sulfates, are great for making your scalp feel squeaky clean but leaves hair brittle. So this pre-shampoo was the exact solution our family was looking for. You squeeze it on the scalp, lather up the scalp and roots, then rinse, allowing the pre-shampoo to be rinsed over the hair length, so you don't need to lather up all your hair, just massage the roots. Then you can use your favorite moisturizing shampoo like you normally would. That's what we did, and my daughter's hair felt softer than usual when dry. it made her hair look like it had more body, more fullness to it. Big smiles.It was very easy to use and did what it claimed: got rid of the build up. Has pleasant mild scent, not a strong perfume or chemical smell. Did not cause forehead or scalp irritation for my daughter's very sensitive skin.

Seems to work nicely in my hair.Will say oh my why on earth they make the bottle so hard to squeeze or the tip just needs to be something different because this one is crazy difficult to deal with.I end up just putting in my palm and applying that way.The bottle says to squirt in your hair onto your roots ummm yea not happening folks.The scent does bother me slightly but so does every product I have tried from this brand.Thankfully though it does not bother me all day long or cause a headache like so many other things on the market does so I can still use it.Helps to keep my curls fresh and full.i use this about once every 10-12 days.

My teenage daughter and I have thick, long, curly hair. We both wash our hair about 2 times a week, 3 times max. She is very diligent about doing the curly girl method with amazing results. I’m a busy mama and kinda go back and forth between curly girl and just straight wash and dry without product. Neither of us had every tried a pre-shampoo before, but it really is great for helping to get rid of the buildup from the products we use! This is something she doesn’t use regularly, but just when she feels like her hair is getting a little heavy. I have only used it once, as I haven’t been using much product lately so I don’t have as much need for it. But we both really appreciate that this is specifically designed for the needs of curly hair and are happy to have added it into our routine! The price seems comparable to other curly hair products that we have purchased in the past, too, so I feel it is reasonably priced.

Somehow It Coats your hair after you shampoo & condition, your natural curls bounceThe only catch is, the gel is so thick, the dispenser is a joke.Skip unscrewing the twist cap and just unscrew the entire cap.Shake it in your hand and then rub it in your scalp.It works with other silicone free products like shea moisture curl shampoo and perfect hair day conditioner.It's the real deal. Even if it seems counterintuitive to shampoo and condition after you use it, somehow it works.And at the end of the day that's all that matters

I don’t get what the hype with this product is? I used this in my child’s hair who had mid back length ringlet curls. I used it as a pre treat followed by shampoo and conditioner. I noticed no difference in their hair compared to when I didn’t use product. Comes in a bottle with a pointed twist cap. It is safety sealed (which I appreciate) but the seal was difficult to remove and the product takes a lot of squeezing to get out. This provided no improvement to frizziness or curl definition for my kiddo. Perhaps if used in combination with other products from the same line it would have worked. But as a stand alone product used in conjunction to my child’s regular hair routine, this was a miss for us.

This pre-treatment shampoo product is thick enough that it's a bit hard to squeeze out of the nozzle, especially if you're holding it above your head to distribute across your scalp like the instructions suggest.Personally I have just been squeezing it into my hand and then distributing on my scalp so I can actually see how much I'm using.I like how this cleanses my scalp before applying shampoo, but I'm not yet convinced it works any better than just double shampoo'ing. I will have to keep using it to see but my first instinct is to say that if you're already double shampoo'ing and that works for you, you don't necessarily need to buy this product instead.It has a nice fruity floral scent to it -- like another new ZOTOS product, the Biotera Ultra Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, if you've tried those.

Wow! I have very tricky hair and am not easily wowed by products unless they’re amazing and this one gets the job done! I have very dry hair so I’m normally using several leave in conditioners and sprays. I also have an oily scalp so the build up of products is real and I never feel like my hair is REALLY clean after washing it. This product is a game changer! After using this my hair ft cleaner and lighter than it has in a LONG time. It had added bounce and just felt so much lighter and less weighed down than usual! I LOVE it! I didn’t even realize my hair could feel so weightless. I have naturally curly hair but wear it straight and this product really works for any style of hair in my opinion.
