Great Adventures/Great Price !!!READ DESCRIPTION!!!
Story:So after reading the first book I was hooked onto this crazy adventure. Like Alice in Wonderland this book series follows the adventures of a small young girl in a strange land encountering creatures and friends alike. If you enjoy odd fantasy you will enjoy this.Books:Story aside, the complete collection is not only an incredible deal, but looks beautiful as well. The box art and individual covers are amazing and have a shine to them. Now keep in mind that these versions of the books DO NOT come with the original pictures seen in other versions of the books. If that is a must these are not the books for you. This is essentially a mass paper back set of L. Frank Baum's books and nothing more.Price:For what you get $40 is a great deal. Buying on ebay, barnes and nobles, or other retailers will cost you between $50 & $70. This does not include shipping fees. Also having the added benefit of prime makes this a deal something to jump on.Condition:Aside from a few streak of discoloration on the spines the books are amazing. These are brand new books sealed in a wrapper so i'm assuming I just had an unlucky error on my books.Final Thought:If you are someone who wants to enjoy classic tales of fantasy at a low price these are the books are for you. For $40 this set of 15 books is a steal. That comes out to $2.60 a book prior to taxes. All in all im satisfied with these books and absolutely recommened them for someone who wants to go on a crazy, fun, wacky, colorful, odd, adventure with timeless characters.

Incomplete Stories - I don't see evidence of that?
Several folks on here commenting on how the stories are incomplete, can someone verify or deny this for the rest of us? The packaging is great, cover art is great, it's hard for me to imagine someone spending that much time and effort on the packaging and not get the internal stuff right? The idea of having the complete oz collection in a format like this is very exciting, just hope it's all there. It would be easy to cross reference the Wizard of Oz story, I have a scholarly Oxford edition of that, but the others would probably be more tricky to navigate.Update:I've gone through and physically verified that all the chapters in this collection (volume One only) line up with the pdf google images of the first editions of volume One of this collection, the first three stories:The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, The Marvelous Land of Oz, and Ozma of Oz. I did not verify all the volumes, because the complaints were with the first volume and I saw no indication of misprinting or missing chapters. Maybe they have corrected this with newer printings, but it's hard for me to believe with a publisher like Simon & Schuster they would put out a product that is as flawed as some are saying. There are no visuals, that's true, and probably hurts the collection some. But the stories are all there, from what I can see. So I'm pleased with this collection. It would be cool if the Library of America took on this project, as that would be a great edition to their collection of American literature.

Nice books
Got these for my wife. She's a big Wizard of Oz can but wasn't familiar with the books. She loved them! Whimsical and full of people and creatures not in the movie. Interesting to see how the books influenced the various movies.

Great stories in great books
I'm here to more review the books themselves rather than the stories because if you are here I'm sure you know that the Wizard of Oz books are classics and wonderful stories. Okay, so for starters, these books are not illustrated. If you are looking for Wizard of Oz books with pictures, this is not the set to get. None of them have any accompanying pictures. Second, the covers of the books are, in my opinion, wonderful. They have a slightly waxy feel to them rather than a papery feel like normal paperback books. This was a pleasant surprise for me, as I feel like I can grip them better while reading them. And, last really, the only complaint I have is putting all 5 books back into the box is really really hard. They fit so snugly that when you try to put the fifth book back in (whichever one you decide to put in last) it is so airtight that you really have to shove it in there and it just is harder than I think it should be. This could also be in part to the waxy texture of the covers that I mentioned above. But as far as the books go, they are absolutely beautiful books with wonderful, classic stories within them. They look great and feel great. Very happy with this set. Oh, each of the books has three of the 15 stories within it, in case you were wondering about that.

A Fantastic Story, Not Just For Children
I have always wanted to read the Wizard of Oz but could never find an original text for it. Finally I have and I was able to get all the books at such an affordable price! The books are definitely worth the money. Very high quality and great presentation. The books are very sturdy as well as the pages. I just wish that it had the illustrations. Other than that it's definitely a great investment and great for any collector of classic books. The story itself is beautiful. I just finished the first book and I've started the second in the series. Such a bittersweet ending but happy for the group of friends that got their wishes to come true. I hope to hear more of the Cowardly Lion as I go on with the series. So much in the book happened that the movie didn't have. If you've seen the movie you HAVE to read the book if you haven't.
