Q: Would I be able to put power strips nearby so it could be used as a charging station?

Yes, but I don't think they'll fit on or in the unit. It is much smaller than expected, though works well for my purposes as a parking lot for technology in my classroom. The wood is thin, so attaching power strips might damage it permanently. Overall, I am pleased with the unit. Perhaps attaching power strips to the wall using command strips or something would be a good idea. I was thinking of using command strips to attach the unit to the wall, but haven't done it yet.

Q: Where do rubber rings go?

After you inset the various tabs into their respective slots, the rubber rings are placed over the tab ends that poke through the slots, thereby holding the pieces together. If you zoom in on the fully assembled photo, you will see what I mean.

Q: Is it possible to order replacement silicone rings (the ones we received are tan)? we need to order at least a bag - we lost one and broke another.

I doubt you can buy extra rings from the seller but they are not essential if you do as I did: you put glue on the intersections of the pieces (with wood glue) and believe me even if the box drops, the whole of it remains strong & in one piece! Otherwise, you could try some mini elastics or the black rubber rings like these: 634790766237. I hope it helps.
