I had used this device while in the hospital. I purchased another brand of leg lifter because of cost but ultimately stopped using it after a few tries as it was not functional.Sammons Preston makes many assistive devices and has good quality and functional designs. I have learned that it is better to purchase from a company that has > 40 years of experience in the business.The Sammons Preston lifter is well made and very sturdy. The rod that gives it rigidity is very stable and does not flex when used. Also the fabric around the rod does not shift when the device is used(that was a problem with a less expensive leg lifter that I had purchased).Given that is is holding up to regular use and is functioning as designed I would say it is good value for the money.

Due to a patellar fracture, I could not lift my leg to get in bed or shower. After having to depend on someone else in home to do this and really having a problem when they were at work, I found this product. It returned my independence during the recovery period. So easy to use, just slip your foot in the loop and hold opposite end. Due to product being somewhat stiff, it is easy to pull on one end and lift leg into bed or shower. I highly recommend this for anyone unable to lift their leg.

This is stiff like the ones used in rehab. It was exactly what I needed to lift my legs into bed after my stroke. It was very useful for shifting my legs into different positions. I also used it to pull things to me that were out of my reach.

This strap is quite important for leg injury or surgical recovery. It is adequate but the loop for the foot is small. So putting it on over the foot is awkward.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Helps me move my leg after surgery. A lot of help getting ito bed by myself.

This might be useful for women, but I cannot see men getting much use from it. I bought two; my knees are very bad and I thought this would help me lift my leg into the car. My husband had a stroke, and I thought this might help him lift his foot into his wheelchair.The openings on both ends are actually very small. I wear a ladies size 8 shoe and I JUST fit into the opening. My husband, a size 12 shoe, cannot get either his bare feet or shoed foot in there.The strap itself is very well made and should last quite a while. It has possibilities, but they cut back on the wrong thing! They need larger foot loops.

This leg lifter was a life saver for me after my hip replacement! It’s amazing how such a simple, well-designed and well-made gadget could work so well! I was able to lift my leg myself onto the bed without having to ring the servant bell 😊....not really, I just called or texted my husband on his cell phone! I used it at other times as well, because I simple could NOT lift my leg for a long time. The length of the lifter is stiff—it doesn’t collapse while you’re trying to use it, and the foot piece stays open. Very useful tool. If you’re having hip surgery or replacement—GET ONE.
