But my fish and crabs seem happier after a few months
It's hard to say if the mud works or not. My red/brown algae didn't go away at all. But my fish and crabs seem happier after a few months, and *some* of my corals exploded in growth, while others shrank. I'll probably keep using it.

Use it Out of Habit and it Makes the Fuge Look Nice
I have used miracle music on the last two reef tanks and 3 sumps that I’ve run. I don’t know if it does anything at all but I’ve had good success while using it. For that reason I continue to use it. I struggled with using it this time around because it’s $7 a pound. It was not that much the last time I used it. I have a Sapphire CR44 sump with a large refugium section. 10 lbs barely creates a 1” bed and I am used to having 2-3” where I can plant mangroves. 1” won’t plant anything so I’m floating cheato and hoping the mud provides continuous trace elements as advertised. I add Reef Trace twice weekly anyway so I probably don’t need Miracle Mud, but like it said. It’s become a habit. At $7 a pound it’s a habit I will likely break with my next tank.

It’s Not Miracle Mud Marine it’s Miracle Mud 3 for Koi
Not Sure why there’s a Picture of Marine Miracle Mud for sale even though whoever in charge of selling these products is selling Miracle Mud 3 for koi and not reef/ saltwater aquariums miracle mud substrate.

If you believe it works...
I guess with Miracle Mud you have to have faith that it works. I have run eco-system type marine aquariums for 8 years and have found them to be very stable and have been able to keep good populations of fish, inverts and corals successfully. How much of this success is down to the Miracle Mud sitting in the sump, honestly I cannot say. But I was able to remove the protein skimmer without any negative effect on the conditions of the water in the tank. So something in the system works and therefore, I continue to use Miracle Mud in my sumps. It does however still feel very expensive for what is basically, marine dirt.

I’m happy so far
I just added 20 pounds to my 180, it’s only been a week. I’m happy so far. I still need to add 2 more bag for the correct amount. I’ll check back in
