Great quality starter web-cam.
Middle-grade quality for low-end prices. The camera quality is a bit grainy at times, but honestly, it's perfectly good for simple video-recording. I use it occasionally to stream, but I mainly use it as a microphone whilst I do not have space for my Studio-Microphone.The holder is great and stops the camera from slipping when placed on top of my monitor, and is generally very adjustable even when not on the top of the computer. The swivel being sperate from the base-plate makes this a really good product that can work at multiple angles. The camera has a soft blue light around the edges of the camera port. This can sometimes make the camera bad in the dark, and makes the quality a bit grainier at times, but when there is substantial lighting, it works great.Connection is a bit spotty, I've found. Despite being plugged in, sometimes the camera just simply won't work, even though the microphone portion of it works. Only solutions I have found are to turn the computer on/off, plug/unplug the camera, or just wait for it to sort itself out.Overall, really good product, very good price, and a great starter web-cam.

Full HD? Best Webcam on the Market
Hello there,Having looked around for a decent webcam I noticed this was hitting top against most of its competitors, however I write this review to make one thing clear, the fun effects which might not be all you want it for but is a very welcome feature is not available in the latest firmware, why Logitech have decided to remove this and yet still advertise the unit of having this capability is beyond me, but trying to find out how to use the effects when the software doesn't actually include them was frustrating to say the least, but alas to save you the digging on various forums like I did, the latest version (of writing this review) is LWS251 which is available to download rather easily from their website, this DOES not include fun effects, however the older firmware LWS240 software DOES and can be googled and found rather easily, although their are some issues which have been rectified in the latest release, myself with lots of other C920 owners find the features in the old version of software by far outweigh the little niggles which have been sorted in the latter release.I hope this is of some use to those purchasing this product with understanding that it should do what it says on the tin but doesn't, well It does sort of but not as you'd expect,Now as for the product itself, installing the drivers was a breeze, loading the cam was a breeze, what I did like is there is a blue halo around the cam itself when using certain functionalities of the cam which is.........well aesthetically pleasing, what ever floats your boat,The mounting is different, where most webcams you can manually adjust the pan and tilt, this only has tilt, but luckily my monitor has pan (swivel) so I got away with that one, but some may find themselves moving their monitor accordingly so they are positioned central in the camera, however most shouldn't have a problem with this if they look at their monitor square on, I have two so their slightly angled inwards to each other, Its really sturdy and looks/feels the business, picture quality is by far superior to many webcmas I have worked with, just ensure your PC is relatively modern, yes Pentium 4 processors are old and you should at least have a dual core with this bad boy, with great power comes great responsibility! Now by default the footage you record as video is actually compressed to of course save on storage, but if your a little geeky like me, and have your own video editing software you may want to use your own compressions CODEC, which will give you much better end results, just a heads up that yes while it is 1080P resolution, the quality of your recordings may looks naff, Pixelated, with no true darks but its down to the compression ratio, the more of the file you eat away, the more of the quality to eat away, Simples! Bears this in mind when you about to return it because the quality appears poor, most however would probably not notice, You can set the video recording to uncompressed allowing you to compress as you wish, but be warned the file size is gargantuan, in comparison to default. Now the audio recoding isn't dynamic what so ever, I also use this webcam on the side to record playing the guitar covering songs, however the 'auto' levelling function on playback sounded awful, distorted and a little like someone had hooked up a WAHWAH pedal without my knowledge, I can imagine this is because it is trying to equalise a constantly changing sound, and in turn you get blamonge as recordings, I would suggest disabling it unless your only using it for talking, but apart from that sounds like a standard Mic, which is fine for what most people use a webcam for.So all in all,Looks good, easy to use, fun effects (albeit not the latest software), good quality video playback, not so much audio, feels expensive, makes friends envy me for having such a cool webcam!, my old cam was Lifecam Windows 1000, which was good at the time (4 years or so back) but this is on a whole other level like, Nokia 3310 with a Samsung Note 2,If your umming and aaaring then know that this is one of the best on the market currently, and yes Its £60 odd quid, but think of the cost of digital camcorders or even digital cameras, take into consideration the Carl Zeiss Lense, which is a renowned manufacturer of lenses, and you'll have yourself a good bargain for your money, you'll regret purchasing that cheaper alternative, trust me,Cheers,Chris.
