Buy Brilliant Breadmaking in Your Bread Machine UK ed. by Atkinson, Catherine (ISBN: 9781905862955) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Now I'm getting some success! - I treated myself to a bread machine after years of dithering, and originally bought a fairly cheap recipe book to go with it. (Published 2003.) I had reasonable results but the bread didn't quite hit the spot with the men and nothing really inspired me to try anything different in it: it wasn't a book you'd pick up and browse for the fun of it. So I got this up to the minute one by Catherine Atkinson and love it. It's really easy to follow with a good introduction, useful hints, information and tips etc. And the recipes are great - all sorts of things I'd never thought of - and they are all clear, nicely set out and so easy to follow. There's a broad range as well, from basic, through everyday, to unusual and a bit exotic. The ingredients aren't difficult to source either. It's a book you can browse through with pleasure, yet it fits into your average kitchen drawer. I'd thoroughly recommend it. I should say my breadmaker is the cheapest I could find, and I didn't exactly have high hopes. However, with this book, I don't know whether it's better ingredient proportions, better tips or what, but the only slight failure was last week when the bread pushed itself above the pan and stuck on the window of the lid a bit. However, the loaf was still completely edible, and the funny bit at the end was cut off and made a meal for the birds. I do now have to do bigger loaves, so that says something. Great value for money. Review: Great - This book is awesome. Seen some people complain about lack of pictures. We are making bread in a machine; the loaves all look the same. Great introduction with a lot of helpful tips and tricks. The recipes are excellent, and has the measurements for a small, medium, and large loaf listed in the ingredients. This book has saved me the hassle of sifting through bad recipes from ai fake blogs and I cannot recommend it enough.

Great British Breadmaking book!
I am a huge bread fan but I found some time ago that supermarket bread (fresh or packaged) tended to make me feel bloated. After much research I discovered that this was probably down to something called the Chorleywood Process, which was invented many decades ago to produce commercial bread in minutes rather than hours. Artisan bread, which is made more slowly and more traditionally, seems much less troublesome to my digestion (as well as tasting SO much better!) so I have been baking my own bread for many years now. I sometimes make my own from scratch but usually I find that breadmakers do an excellent job too. I bought this book to complement my new Panasonic SD-ZB2502 breadmaker after my old Panny expired. Initially I used the Pansonic Recipe Book in the new machine and I was disappointed that the loaves came out very soft and crumbly. Once I modified those recipes a little they did improve, however, I wanted to see how Atkinson's recipes compared. I have to say that every one so far has turned out very well indeed. Loaves from her book are tasty with excellent texture and the ones I have tried so far (Granary and 50/50) work beautifully in our toaster. The book contains many other interesting recipes that I intend to try soon, the only gripe I have is that there are no pictures or any naan bread recipes. The ingredients are in UK Metric, though, unlike many of the alternative books on offer out there which seem to be American. There is also some useful theory at the beginning after which the book launches into the recipes proper, with clear and concise instructions. Overall, I think this book is great value and well worth grabbing if you own any kind of breadmaker or are considering buying one.

brilliant breaking in your bread machine
Lovely recipes but very few pictures. Most recipes have a picture so we can see what the finished product looks like. Helps when choosing a recipe and on gauging outcome. However the recipes are amazing and full of flavour. Great variety of flavoursome loaves. Listing the ingredients in order of how they go into the pan is very useful . Some of the best bread I have ever tasted . An excellent purchase

A good book for good bread. It's not all in metric so, you have to get a dual scale and convert sometimes. Also, it might take a little adjusting the recipes to work with the different machines. Any creative baker will do well. Overall, it works well.
