Bandai Hobby Bandai #01 RX-78-2 Gundam 1/144, Real Grade (BAN163280)

Really like the model, the instructions are clear and easy to follow, although it is written in Japanese. In-spite of its' diminutive size, about the same height as a coke can the detailing is superb, would certainley get another. Although highly pose able some parts are prone to falling off, but then its not marketed as a toy and I'm probably being ham fisted.

Just finished building this kit - really fun build, has taken me close to a fortnight on/off doing parts/lining/decals etc. Love the proportions & all the different shades of grey/white/off white, red/pale red. Is a solid kit & the (optional) core fighter mechanic is great. Lets face it - it is the grandaddy gundam so everyone should have an RX78 in their collection!

So, i will be honest. This was my first RG gunpla. I normally stick to HG's and MG's, so this was a first to me. Personally, I like it. I love the subtle colour separation and attention to detail. Articulation is pretty good, however, the shoulders are a pain, and the arms tend to pop off on me. I think this is the most detail I've done with any model kit of this scale. I'm personally not that great at applying decals accurately, however at a glance, your RX-78-2 will definitely look pretty awesome. However, not everything is great. Bits tend to call off, or the plastic is too sensitive in some areas, resulting in many headaches. The posable hands, whilst fun, also suffer from this, and have a hard time holding the beam rifle properly. My opinion? Static hands are best used. Overall, I enjoy the kit, and look forward to building more Real Grades in the future. Just be aware of the flaws.

When I opened the packaging I was gobsmacked to find that I had to assemble it whole. All the pieces put me off. I'm not going to bother to assemble it. I'll just pass this along to someone else. I thought it would have come already assembled, oh well. Thanks to those that shipped it out anyways.

This was my first RG kit and I was left in awe at the engineering behind this The kit, despite being a 1/144 as some nice weight to it and feel very solid. The only thing that's a bit "meh" are the fingers and the hands which pop off very easy and struggle to hold the beam sabers( but that could be just on my kit). Absolutely love this kit!

Real Grade models are what I've been looking for. Shame they're only in 1/144 for now.

Great kit. Very delicate, parts can get loose or fall off the base, and if dropped some parts may break (Mine has a broken hip joint that i'm attempting to fix right now), but other than that, amazing kit, only necessary sticker is for the eyes and that can be a bother, ended up painting them on myself. lots of stickers included for the realistic look, but they can peel off over time. recommend not using too many stickers, and panel lining with the proper gundam marker, although i went a long time without using the marker because it still looked stellar without it. Amazing kit, be careful with it though.

Excelente relacion calidad precio. Es articulada, cosa que no quiere decir que sea para jugar. No necesita pegamento, a no ser que lo prefieras para rematar algun detalle. Las pegatinas no son calcomanias, se pegan. Una vez montado altura de 13cm, y queda pero que muy bien.

Lo recomiendo bastante si buscas adentrarte en este hobby. En cuanto al paquete todo en orden (llegó a tiempo y en muy buen estado)

My first model kit and that too a Gundam! Great packaging by Bandai. Just be wary about the instruction leaflet provided which is all printed in Japanese. The visual cues are easy to follow and the model is very easy to build despite some rather very very tiny pieces. Great articulation and attention to detail. Comes pre painted i.e. colored plastic/PVC molds but you can paint over it and use the stickers provided or ever get waterslide decals for those who want to walk the extra mile and make it look every more magnificent.
