Good quality and entertaining
I found these spiked overshoes to be as good as they say in their description, however, what they didn't mention was the entertainment value to onlookers. Being a 65 year old 17 stone 6ft 2inch ex-rugby playing fireman, my wife was in hysterics whilst watching her husband struggling to break the suction of the spikes in the clay soil. I was trying to multi-task by pushing the lawnmower whilst aerating the lawn and really should have known better. They are good and I'm sure my lawn will benefit, but my ego will be dented for some time to come...!

Good but hard work
Very hard work if you are doing a large lawn, however do work. Straps do keep dangling but no problems with coming undone. I think you need to be quite heavy with large feet to get the best results or if lighter be prepared for an extensive, ‘stomping’ work out and having to take more steps. I am a size 4 and front spikes didn’t go in very far so had to overlap steps. Took 2 of us 5 hours in shifts to complete 0.3 acre. Aches in legs the next day!

Great product, but straps are not good
The straps aren’t great, as allow one of the shoes to fall off after a few steps. That one issue aside, and otherwise great product.

No fuss holes in lawn
Plenty been said about how difficult or easy these are...1. Thick plastic sole. 13 spikes a shoe, nuts and spanner supplied. 2 spare bolts. 1 spare spike. I may need more and a few extra would have been nice. If there are problems with loosening nuts sprung washers?2 I applied blue thread lock. Tightened. Left for 8 hours to cure.3. Attached straps. Nice metal buckles, like you'd find on decent cargo straps. Good quality and easy to use. Won't come undone due to cam and spikes.4. Went for walk around garden. Soil was damp from rain. It's sandyish. Picked feet up and put them down. Firmly. Vertically. Didn't bother to stomp. Walked at decent pace. Avoided trees and their roots. Maybe I'll avoid dry periods to do this?5. Cleaned off base at end as it gathers leaves etc.. All spikes there and nuts. Will it rust? Stainless would be good if it isn't.I have no idea why people have found this hard. Different product? Giraffe legs? Not tightening it all up? Rubbish straps. None of that with this and for me.No idea if I will see improved lawn. Or how long it will last, but it was easy to do a large lawn. Why did I ever waste time with a fork?

Good in theory and ease of use. Poor cheap build broke easily
Were working well, but must have hit a larger rock underneath and two tynes snapped off.Disappointed.Also one tyne arrived with the thread not quite right so it wouldn’t screw in at all.

Good but not great
Easy enough to assemble and easy enough to use, to a degree...Plenty enough straps but they do not stay tight so you need to sort of tie them up as well or your foot will come out.The spikes are basically solid nails so you will probably not ever break the spikes. There is a spare one included just in case this does happen. When you have them fixed well onto your feet and making sure you are already on your lawn as the spikes are sharp, give them a go. Unless you have the softest of soil, normal walking is not really possible. You are more lifting and placing your feet each time which gives your legs and ankles a nice work out. You will also probably find yourself wobbling around a lot at the beginning as well.Basically you will not be shimmying around your lawn like some cat walk queen, more like a drunk tightrope walker. If you are just looking to push some holes in your lawn for some aeration, then these will do it. You just need to put a bit more effort in than maybe you first thought, that and maybe a few laughs from anyone watching.

Easy way to put holes in your lawn.
These are great for spiking the lawn easily. After preparing the spikes within the shoes it is easy to fit them onto your normal gardening footwear and walk across the grass with moon landing type steps (without the lack of gravity of course). The buckles that hold the straps are really strong and being metal do not allow the strap to slip, unlike the plastic buckle that I previously tried. These are really good and once you get used to walking a different way with them on it is quite easy to cover quite a large area quickly, although does make to tired. I bit messy at the end scraping the mud off the bottom of the shoes, but the job only needs doing once or twice a year.

Not for smaller shoe size people.
Very easy to put together but that is where it ended for me. The one size fits all would work for this if there were more places to put the straps. Would be okay for mens shoes or larger women’s maybe. The straps loosened to easily which did cause me to fall on one occasion during its one and only outing on the lawnI can see how it should work which is why I have given it a score of 2 stars. Just not fit for people with small feet.
