Practice Book Year 6: For the English National Curriculum (The Shanghai Maths Project)

I have used this book for a year now with my year 6 class. Initially they found it difficult but the highers eventually started to love getting into the nitty gritty of the maths and vocabulary which then inspired the others to have a go. It has encouraged some really healthy competition and lots of group work when trying to figure out the more complex problems. I highly recommend it!I am currently buying my copy again as I have lost it and can't imagine starting September without it!!

It seems that the size of some figures changed from the original version but that the answers haven't been updated...More importantly, some questions simply do not make sense and cannot be answered. Perhaps an issue with the translation, but that's not acceptable.

Very good book however I think it is too difficult for average child from year 6. I am sure it is suitable for those preparing for entrance exams as additional, supporting, Supplementary exercises.

This is such good practice for the children, I have Chinese versions too, this English version is bit easier than the Chinese one, but still very good for standard practice for my children.

Great advanced mathematical vocab. Moves from expected to greater depth in each topic. Answers provided. Problems involve a range of calculations from a range of topics.c

Very useful workbook

I found this book hard to follow and did not bother using it with my year 6 class. There are a few good exercises but on the whole, I found it very uninspiring,
