About the start-up Describe your product in three words.Super tasty hand-made chili sauce. How did you come upon the idea for this product?David Weyhe is the inventor of the Mexican Tears chilli sauce. He tried many different hot sauces for a long time, but none of them really fit his taste. Many of sauces were too vinegary or simply too mild. So, he decided to invent his own chilli sauce. He was quickly able to delight his friends and family of the idea. But there was one person in particular: Thomas Abeln. Thomas tried all of David's new creations from then on, and he was the honorary chief tester of the latest creations. In 2010, after three years of cooking and tasting, it was finally done: the hot Mexican Tears sauces won over the taste testers. What makes your product so special?Mexican Tears sauces are not only hot, they're also super delicious. A nice spicy selection
The dried habanero one is a killer. It's one or two drops and all sensation in your mouth gets lost. The red pepper sauce was OK - more sweet and smoky than hot.

Flavour and heat
A good sauce that isn't overwhelmed by the spice. It's difficult to find hot sauces that aren't just there to destroy your taste buds but still pack a punch. This stuff does a fair job of providing flavour and heat.

These sauces have a flavour of their own beyond being just spicy
A friend has introduced me to Mexican Tears during my studies in Germany and I've been a fan ever since! I'm not a food connaiseur, but I like to eat well and I like my food spicy every once in a wihle. I used to be a Tabasco fan for a long time, until I tried Mexican Tears that is. The thing about MT is that the sauces aren't simply spicy. They also have a flavour of their own.The Red Pepper sauce is definitely my favourite. It can make any garbage food taste delicious, but I prefer not to waste it like that. I save it for the good stuff. Also, instead of just nuking my whole plate with hot sauce (like i used to do with Tabasco), I put Mexican Tears on the side and dab my food into it. I also love using it for Bloody Marys. The sauce really ads flavour, and not just spiciness to the cocktail. The only usage scenario where I still prefer Tabasco is when making Red Octobers (vodka shots). Tabasco packs a powerful vinegary punch, which I actually prefer when drinking vodka .Green Pepper sauce is my Mum's favourite. It's not as spicy as the other types, so you end up going through it faster. This may cause hardcore spicy eaters may feel like they are getting too little bang for the buck, so beware! However, if you only rarely crave for something spicy, this sauce is just the right thing to bring variety to your meals.Red Habenero sauce is several magnitudes spicier than the Red Pepper sauce. My Dad is a spiciness freak, who snacks on raw chilies like other people snack on potato chips. Needless to say, he loves this sauce. Personally, I keep it around only for making pasta sauce or salad dressing because you only need so little of it. If you buy it alone - it's more expensive than the other sauces, but it stays way longer in my kitchen. So there you have it. My favourite sauces!PS: Pic related. It's a photo of a family camping trip. Mexican Tears made the food bearable :)
