This steam oven has replaced a microwave, toaster and air fryer in my kitchen.
I bought my Baumann steam oven in October 2024. Now, July 2025, there's no way I could go back to using a microwave for reheating any food. This steam oven has replaced a microwave, toaster and air fryer in my kitchen. As for baking, I've tried it (made a cake) and it works just as well as a regular oven. I have a 9x13 aluminum pan (no handles) and it fits in the steam oven just fine. It toasts bread great. I normally toast my bread on the middle rack. Doesn't get as brown as some people may like, but the toast is very crunchy on the outside and soft in the center. If you want it brown, just move the rack up towards the heating element. This oven is my go-to for reheating frozen croissants from Costco. The reheat function injects steam to keep the croissants from getting dry inside. Once the reheat function is done, let the croissant sit for a minute, and you've got a warm croissant with a flaky outside, perfect! The air fryer option works just as well. I do tend to increase the temperature just a bit above the directions on the food packaging, to give it some extra crispiness. If you're looking to get a steam oven in your kitchen without having to replace your regular oven, this is the way to go!

Lasted 2 years before Rust
This WAS a great steam oven for almost 2 years...I took care of it and kept it clean and noticed the bottom of the inside of the door coating began to peel off and then rust set in. Not happy. Very expensive to last just two years.

Don't expect it to last much past the warranty period.
Warranty is for 1 year. I think that must be the expected life span of the item. At least that is how long my oven worked. Worked well when it worked.

Multifunctional with Exceptional Customer Service
Got this to replace the microwave and it does an outstanding job in that role. I use the stream oven function to replicate what the microwave did and it does a great job warming food and helping items to keep their original texture. Warming in the microwave vs the steam oven is no comparison. It's slower than warming in the microwave and takes a bit of experimentation to learn the equivalent steam oven temp and time that you would've used in the microwave, but for the health benefit - a little extra time is worth it. I also enjoy using the air fry and normal oven functions and I appreciate that using it doesn't warm up the whole house like in a typical oven. I've played a bit with the dehydrate and had decent results. There aren't great instructions for the dehydrate function and the instructions aren't great in general, nor are there a lot of videos showing you how to work things. But over time, you're able to figure most of it out. I also wanted to add that I'd been using this thing as a workhorse, "do everything" cooking appliance, but after about 9 months had an issue with it. I contacted customer service and they were beyond excellent. They made things right, with no hassle, no follow-ups, just straight forward, easy and friendly customer service. It's a company that you can shop with confidently.

Came damaged
Would like to update review to 4 stars. Contacted Amazon and we had a new one by the next week and they took the damaged one. Oven works great and love it. Easy to clean even after air-frying meat. Love the steam cooking. Had it for about a month and the only thing wrong is the inside paint on the bottom of the door is peeling off.

Not perfect but still indispensable
I replaced my Cuisinart steam oven with this one so the lack of information about using the oven was not a problem for me (there's a manual but it's pretty brief). Despite having almost same footprint as the old one, there is much more room inside the oven, both width and height. The power cord is longer, making it easier to choose a good location. The interior is easier to clean, and the light being mounted top-center, makes it easier to see if it needs cleaning. The baking sheets, shelf, basket and drip tray are sturdy and fit well - you could cook quite a lot just using these. I love that my bakeware with handles on the sides fits in this oven so no need to buy a bunch of smaller stuff. The oven heats up very quickly, especially if using steam, and it cools down slowly - it's also very quiet when running. These features make it efficient and a better option than a full-size oven or microwave most of the time. So far, I've cooked bread (proofed dough/baked loaf), cookies, enchiladas, roast peppers, bacon and reheated fried chicken - all turned out great. Areas for improvement: it's too easy to overlook not having the drip/water tray pushed all the way back which can lead to a little puddle on the counter. The program defaults to the same temp & minutes each time, it would be better if it defaulted to last settings I used. It's slightly tedious to use the up/down arrows to select a menu setting vs inputting numbers. I would prefer the menu options not be on the glass door as it looks busy, but some labels were removable which helps. The sides and top of the oven are all same colour which is an improvement over many similar appliances that are apparently only meant to be seen from the front. If you're not familiar with how to use a steam oven, I would suggest just try it out and keep an eye on how fast things are cooking. Be aware that steam when baking actually crisps food which is counterintuitive, but that's how the crispy crust on French loaves is created so just trust it!

I do not miss my microwave
Update 4/4/25 After 6 months of use, I received an "E1" error code. I can't hear food anymore. I contacted Baumann to file a claim. After waiting for a few days I received a message that it takes 5-7 business days to process the claim. That is more than inconvenient for a device our family of 6 relied on for 6 months. Now I need to find another one to buy. This really sucks. $400 is a lot of money to waste on a faulty product. I do not recommended. Original Review I just became increasingly uncomfortable with heating up food with microwave radiation and decided to switch. It takes longer to heat but heats evenly, even rice heats up well on reheat function...no cold pockets and perhaps even safer than microwave radiation. I do not miss my microwave at all!

We wanted a multifunction steam oven to replace a built-in Bosch convection steam oven that we had in our old house and to reduce the current use of our large 36" propane oven. We did a lot of research before settling on the Baumann multifunction steam oven. We have been using it for almost a month now and have no regrets about our purchase. It has nothing to envy of my old Bosch! We did several trials: bread, whole chicken, steamed vegetables, fish, breaded chicken fingers, eggs, etc. We use it almost every day; it meets our expectations and our needs. We use both the selecting preset menu and the selecting cooking function. Easy to use and clean, compact, quiet and efficient, what more can I say. Contrary to some comments, we have no problem with deformation of accessories or water leaks. It is true that there is no recipe included or cooking instructions apart from the selecting preset, but it is very easy to fill in the gaps on the internet. (recipe book for Bosch miele steam oven, thermador etc.) I recommend it without hesitation.

I've had this oven for about 4 days, and made a bunch of different dishes using mostly the steamer and steam oven. It works really well and easy, and the food came out beautifully. Attached are a picture of steamed fish in banana leaves, and steam baked bread. I am genuinely excited to cook again tonight with this oven. There are a couple of things that might be good to know: -the steam comes out at the front right bottom. It is a steamer, it will release a lot of steam. -the toaster function is not as good as a regular toaster -since it is a steamer, it is really easy to clean - but the dirty water needs to be taken out regularly and be refilled regularly. -the list with numbers and preset configurations on the front, cannot be taken off.
