Still the best dev tank film reel, easy to load, adaptable 35mm to 120

It seems are by far the most prevalent brand of developing equipment in the UK. Compatible with Paterson developing tanks.The reel can be loaded with 120 or 35mm film. To change the film type, the reel needs twisting until each side unclips, then it can be put back together to take the wider 120 film. I use this in a dark bag, and there are a few lessons I've learned to bear in mind.Do not attempt to load a film if the reel is not totally dry. In a dark bag, the humidity can become a problem, so it is important to load films quickly and efficiently to avoid problems.The film is easier to load if the leading corners are slightly tapered, just nip a few mm off at the front corners with scissors and 45 degreed to each edge of the film.After use, leave the reel in a warm place for a day to ensure it is totally dry for the next use. It is never worth trying to load a second film on for another batch of developing the same day.Mine have lasted well for a number of years.For what you buy the price seems very expensive, but I guess that is because Paterson dominate the market and there are few other readily available options.
