Advantus PC0600 Paper Clips, Plastic, Large (1-3/8-Inch), Assorted Colors, 200/Box

I ordered these clips as I find them to be great bookmarks for trade paperbacks and multi-volume graphic novels.I have nothing but good things to say about the clips themselves.The thin, cardboard box the clips are packaged in was totally crushed by being shipped in one of the aircell Amazon mailer envelopes. Not the best choice as the box of clips was totally demolished and 90% of the clips were loose in the envelope. None were broken, but I now have to find another container to keep these clips in.

I'm a teacher in a residential facility. We can't have metal paperclips, so I use these instead. They work well but are fragile and snap easily. However, I expected them to, so no big surprise. The seller did a good job with packaging, so I'd buy from this one again.

I love the color clips. There is nothing glamorous about paper work but at least we can dress it up with color.

Thin and flimsy, but okay. They hold together a couple pieces of paper well. I guess I was expecting something of better quality.

My wife bought these for her handbell choir. They use them to clip to their music to help turn pages easily. Their thinness is an asset, since the music folders don’t get too bulky when a bunch of them are used.

Rarely, in all the years since 2006 of ordering from Amazon (123 orders placed in 2018 alone), have I ever wished more for a Category of Zero for reviewing products. In a phrase, the item ADVANTUS Large Plastic Paper Clips, 1-3/8 Inch, Assorted Colors, Box of 200 (PC0600) is a complete waste of time and money. My Prime package of these beauties arrived strewn outside their own crushed cardboard box, numbered 197 (some broken) along with a few pieces of plastic waste that summed, I suppose, to the gross weight of 200 of these useless fasteners. They are not “Large;” they are rather brittle; they are far thinner in construction than the Plastiklips that I have used for many years. (Those who rant about these ADVANTUS products may never have had a chance to use the Plastiklips alternatives.) When these clips arrived, I inspected them and decided to just throw them out. I then sat down to write this Review note, not because I have lots of time to waste reviewing such lousy products but because I was THAT angry. DON’T buy these. Spend a bit more and get the Plastiklips ones made in Germany. The quality alone will be worth the difference and the improved performance will be a hidden bonus.

Good strong plastic paper clips. Stiffer than Baumgarten's of same size, number in box, and color variety. Both can do the job well. I first looked at Advantus and then bought Baumgarten's for a $2 a box price difference. When I looked again at Advantus on Amazon...same session...the price was reduced to be within 30 cents or so of Baumgarten's. I then purchased a box of the Advantus. Advantus had the initial advantage because the description said Large and specified 1-3/8th inch. Baumgarten's said only that they were Large. Fine, they are the same size. I'll use them in document prep before scanning. Nice because they don't indent the papers to be scanned. Baum's are solid color. Advantus are clear colors.
