First, it is exceedingly bright. It features a smooth reflector with a single LED emitter. It uses two (2) 18650 Li-Ion batteries which are supplied and are rated at 5000mAh. The thing(s) that actually prompted to purchase this particular light were both the $20.00 price and the "rotary switch" which is situated where your thumb naturally rests when using the light and while it takes some practice, the ring-switch operates quite nicely; one (1) click to the left for full power or one click to the right for S.O.S., also at the full 3000 lumens. I really do not like that nearly every LED high-power flashlight on the market today sports one of those really aggravating (at least to me) tail-cap switches which is fine if you're a police officer and using both your light and weapon simultaneously but for most everyone else, the tail-cap switch just makes the light harder to use easily.Having said all that, I do wish this company - and every other for that matter - would stop worrying so much about presenting their light with an even, smooth finish and either do some really coarse & deep knurling or provide some sort of rubber sleeve to afford a good grip. The really fine knurls on the barrel are neither coarse enough nor deep enough to do anything but look good. Otherwise they are totally superfluous. As I've done in the past, I'll find an old bicycle inner tube of the size used in those really narrow tires and hack off a suitable length.In my opinion (should anyone actually care) for a mere double-sawbuck, it'd be hard to go wrong buying this flashlight. It functions very well and is blindingly bright. If used defensively, one might place it in the "non-lethal weapons" class. I like it a lot!

The switch is of poor quality, it sticks when I tried to turn it. My experience is quite different than one of the other reviewers, I could not get use to operating this light with one hand, it can be done but makes my fingers sore, with two hands, it is quite easy. However there is an advantage on this switch design, it can not be turned on accidentally in my bag and it is quick to cycle through all the modes. My suggestion for the next version is to add a push button switch for on/off and use the rotary switch for modes (keep the OFF as one of the modes for accidental switch on protection). This way there is no complicated (long-short press ) switching modes like many other designs. It is about three times as bright as my other 610 Lumens 18659 flashlight, to be fair it is difficult for me to gauge so only take that with a grain of salt. The spot beam in the middle is concentrated, focused and can go a long distance. The flashis durable and bright, no complain what so ever. The batteries included are good quality, they are specified as 3600mAh on the label instead of the pictured 5,000mAh. It is fine, I don't trust the printing anyway, 90 percent of them from China are way overrated. So I think the included batteries are pretty good at about 3,000mAh after comparing them to my expensive Samsung 3,500mAh batteries, normally you don't get anything better than true 2,000mAh with 5,000mAh label. I love the customer service and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the batteries which is an important part of this device.

This showed up really quickly...I haven’t had a chance to take it on a dive yet but it seems very well made and it is bright. I don’t see why this won’t work well...Update... took it diving in Grand Cayman.. it’s very good.. bright.. really helped put light in crevices as deep as 100 ft.. very happy.
