Initially I had some issues but I contacted the seller and the rectified the problem straight away, this is unrelated to programming and setting it up. When setting it up, I found this extremely easy, if you want it to be compatible with other walkies, just make sure you know frequency, dcs and ctss codes. You’ll be on your way. If you’re not a technical person you may find it challenging to set up so taking your time is best or possibly search up videos if they exist. The range for these are decent, although built up areas will give you static/interference. The range I got in built up area while elavated was 0.8miles(1.28km). Battery life lasts a whole day while using consistently.

I thoroughly enjoy the appearance and quality of the product. However my only gripe is that they could be a bit bigger in length. The range is very good and make our lives a lot easier in a big building with very poor signal. The settings allow good customisation so you can make them as loud and proud or quiet and bare-bones as you like. They were easy to setup and attach the belt clips.

A bit flakey

I'm a Volunteer Lock Keeper (VLK) on a stretch of the waterways with two locks around a mile apart. These have proven effective and reliable in communicating with my fellow VLKs upstream to let them know when a boat is heading their way so that they can set the locks ready to receive it, and visa-versa. The battery life is very good and it handles an eight-hour shift without a problem. The only downside is you need to know a fair bit about comms in general and the handbook doesn't help much unless you are aware of terms such as 'RX-CTCSS/DCS' and 'Squelch Levels'. For more advanced users it is possible to program the units via a free downloadable app called "Chirp" but you will need to purchase an additional data cable to connect to your computer, these are also available on Amazon at around the £8 price-point. Other than this if used as basic walkie-talkies, as I do, they are great and the FM radio function is nice to have when traffic is light. They certainly do the job for me...

keep in touch with loved ones without paying contract fee and privately /great for holidays /camping /dog walking /shooting /security /fishing /power outage / very well made and can be customized with different frequency and accessories .

Got these for airsoft, once you figure out how to program these they're a good all round radio.
