Lengthy Review relating to JBL 1000 PRO - Superb Home Theatre Soundbar/System!!! (Experienced in a hall dimension of 20*10 feet with 5 windows nearby and 4 doors open with mild to average outside sound) The JBL 1000 PRO Soundbar is a Superb Home theatre system. Reasons justified by my experience- 1. Awesome bass Quality and Quantity to enjoy the music and movies through DTH and OTT platforms. 2. Voice clarity is very Good. 3. Surround Sound feel is also very good - but with a condition - calibrate rear speakers properly by placing it according to the instructions given in the manual or first time calibrate near sound bar and second time to be calibrated behind your sitting position - but only after using the installation kit provided by JBL fix it just above your ear level or head level - was actually worried due to reviews given online but its really feeling awesome - calibration has to be performed properly. To confirm about the surround feel through the rear speakers, use the Apple TV APP free content series available on it, you will definitely feel very happy with purchasing the JBL 1000 PRO. 4. DTH TATAPLAY 4k set top box sounds very good - even if connected directly to TV, LG SM9000 HDMI INPUT and sound passed through LGTV HDMI EARC TO HDMI Earc of JBL 1000 Pro Sound Bar. 5. Quality of sound from the first Generation APPLE TV 4k connected directly to JBL 1000 PRO is also superb. 6. Tested On JBL ONE APP AFTER CALIBRATION USING THE APP , SET EQUALIZER SETTING, FOR ALL FEATURES TO +5 LEVEL, ITS REALLY AN ULTIMATE INOX THEATER FEELING FLOOR SHAKING BASS+ATMOS SOUND FROM SURROUD SPEAKERS AND FRONT SPEAKERS (FELT WATCHING THAMMA MOVIE on Amazon prime through Apple tv 4k Volume level on JBL 1000 PRO at 22) Experiments done to perfect the JBL 1000 PRO sound bar usability with other sound bars and Blu-ray home theatre system:- 1. AFTER PURCHASE OF JBL, at first attempt, sound was emitted only from JBL 1000 pro, WHICH WAS used as a hub, to connect LG SP8A SOUND BAR connected to Amazon 4k fire TV stick and get sound from LG SP8A + Sony BDV N9100W +JBL 1000 PRO sound bar. So as I was determined to get superb sound from all three models, LG SP8A + SONY BDV N9100 + JBL 1000 pro, I tried many times with anticipation of finding a perfect solution, at last, I was able to, by using the following method - Connected Amazon 4k first Generation Fire TV stick to LG SP8A Soundbar HDMI INport, inturn SP8A EARC port to HDMI input of SONY BDV N9100W Home theatre system, inturn from Sony BDV home theatre EARC HDMI port to directly to LG SM9000 TV NORMAL HDMI port and further THROUGH JBL 1000 PRO EARC PORT TO LG SM9000 EARC PORT . but the sound OUTPUT was of the following type:- - not complete Dolby Atmos from all three models but still got surround sound experience - some may not like this setup but to get more feel JBL 1000 PRO 880 WATTS + LG SP8A 440watts+ Sony BDV N9100W 1000 WATTS= TOTAL 2320 WATTS OUTPUT (quality has to be achieved only through proper sound volume settings on each model which I achieved after few Hours, others can try if they have other models and do not want to loose it by using the new system alone ) 1. Through SP8A - got Dolby Atmos 2. Through Sony BDV N9100W - got Dolby Digital surround 3. Through JBL 1000 pro - got Dolby surround (a few times the sound bar disconnected but I switched it on, then again it was proper - with very good bass effect) 4. But to get proper clarity of vocal and music, I had to experiment with the volume level of all three models, at last the following volume level worked:- Volume level 15 on JBL1000 pro Volume level 18 on LG SP8A Volume level 20 on SONY BDV N9100W Still experimenting with optical output, as JBL is not allowing sound output if we use a optical or its splitter and also on the JBL Website, they have mentioned that if both EARC hdmi and optical cable are inserted, then optical will not work. CHALLENGES FACED:- 1. Fixing the sound bar to the wall using all HDMI INPUTS inserted into it and the rear speaker was Challenging, Installation was provided free of cost but the Technician told that he was fixing this model for the first time during the installation the space between the wall and speaker was very limited to freely insert or remove the HDMI INPUTS or optical cable so he took the video and told that he would inform about suitable solution. 2. While fixing screws on the main sound bar, place good soft materials below, as the clamp had to be fixed on the back side of the mainsound bar. 3. Straightness in fixing the rear speaker holder has to be done carefully. 4. Amazon fire TV Stick 4k max is not working if directly plugged into any of the JBL bar 1000 pro soudbar HDMI IN PORTS so had to use TV HDMI in PORT OR PASSTHROUGH LG SP8A HDMI IN PORT TO TV HDMI PORT My experience with Bass and rear speaker Settings and future plans in using JBL 1000 Pro along with other models:- The best bass was felt a few times at level 3, a few times at level 4, even for rear speakers, MID LEVEL ISBEST.T, High level if viewing from the best source like Apple TV 4k or Fire TV Stick 4k or even through TATAPLAY 4K SET TOP BOX Channels like ZeeHD Kannada or Colours Kannada HD Channel, sounds great, so further I am getting ready to enjoy Karanataka Ratna, Padma Bhushana Bhangaradha Manushya Dr Rajkumar ji Songs and movies today and later with Dr SP Balasubramanyam ji songs, Sri. Mohammad Rafi ji, Sri. Mukesh Kumar ji, Sri. Kishore Kumar ji, Sri. Kumar Sanu ji, Sri. Udit Narayan ji songs,Smt. S Janaki ji, Kumari Dr. Lata Mangeshkar ji, Smt P. Shusheela ji,Smt.Shreya Goshal ji and all our Great Indian singers and Greatest Music Directors of 60s 70s, 80s, 90s songs and new Songs in addition to OTT series, Movies relating to Patriotic , Action , Science fiction, Horror available in Dolby Atmos and Dolby Surround - with the proper alignment of all three models JBL 1000 pro with rear speakers in 5.1 settings + LG SP8A + Sony BDV N9100W, all connected with LG SM9000 TV. To conclude:- don't worry about negative comments mentioned on online platforms, this JBL 1000 PRO is a superb sound bar purchase and enjoy the sound(if you want to, you can also passthrough other brand sound bar and Blue ray Home theatre system and get awesome sound experience through JBL Bar 1000 sound bar and other models connected to the TV after few experiments with volume level settings as this works rarely as of now as this is still in experimentation level, till then, will use JBL 1000 PRO ALONE CONNECTED THROUGH APPLE TV 4K and TATAPLAY DTH , as fire tv stick max is not working if connected directly to JBL 1000 PRO SOUNDBAR as of now)

I’ve lived with the JBL Bar 1000 Pro for a full month now, putting it through rigorous testing, hence this is the Jan-2026 review with the latest firmware updates installed. I’ll be honest—I was sceptical about moving away from my high-end 5-lakh rupees Onkyo 7.1 setup with massive tower speakers. However, the sheer convenience and performance of this bar have completely shifted my perspective. Cinema & Audio Graph The way JBL handles the audio graph for cinema is impressive. I tested several Netflix Atmos titles, YouTube Dolby testing videos, and the sound is massive. It fills my 300 sq. ft. room effortlessly. Despite the heavy bass, the PureVoice technology ensures dialogues remain crisp and never get drowned out by the low-end rumble. It’s a truly cinematic "wall of sound." Bass Performance This is where the Bar 1000 Pro shines. If you love a punchy, deep low-end for movies, this 10-inch subwoofer is a beast. It’s tight, controlled, and provides that "theatre-thump" without the muddiness often found in cheaper bars. It’s perfect for action-heavy shows and high-octane gaming. Surround Speaker & Battery Testing I read several reviews complaining about the detachable speakers' battery life, but my experience was the opposite. After 1 month of testing: Back-to-back viewing: I’ve watched 6 hours of content in one go, and the battery only dropped to about 85%-90%. Standby Test: I left them uncharged and in standby mode for an entire day; they never dropped below 60%. The "short battery life" claims seem to be a myth or based on faulty units—in real-world use, they are rock solid. Ease of Use - The "AVR Killer" The transition from a complex AVR system to this was a revelation. No more juggling three remotes or dealing with a literal nest of wires. The HDMI eARC implementation is flawless—everything turns on with the TV, and the setup took minutes, not hours. For a 300 sq. ft. space, the clutter-free look is a massive upgrade over bulky tower speakers. Music Performance: As a producer, this is my only point of contention. While the bar is phenomenal for movies, it lacks a dedicated "Stereo Mode" preset. For critical music listening, if you want the audio to stay in a 2.1 or 2.0 configuration without artificial widening. I’m requesting JBL to introduce a "Pure Stereo" mode in a future firmware update. The Verdict Pros: -Incredible bass and cinematic room-filling 7.1.4 sound. -Zero lag/latency with eARC. -Surprisingly long battery life on the surrounds. -Dialogue clarity is top-notch. Cons: - Missing EQ Presets: JBL needs to provide more out-of-the-box presets like "Music," "Vocal Boost," or "Cinema." Currently, you have to manually fiddle with the 7-band EQ in the JBL One App - which gets reset automatically upon restart. Summary: For the price and convenience, this bar is totally worth it. It replaced a system 5x its cost and I don't regret it for a second. Just go for it if you love watching movies. Just make sure you give this bar the best quality input signal to perform - like lossless audio and Dolby Atmos via eARC HDMI cable.

This is a great sound bar however I expected a sound bar that boasts of 13 drivers excluding the subwoofer to be phenomenal but the truth is it falls short. First off i'd like to say that the installation was done within 24 hours of me receiving the product. I was a bit skeptical about the installation being done on time after reading other reviewers here but i've had no such bad experience. There's a lot of ambiguity about the life of the wireless rear surround speakers and how long they actually last on a single charge. I've been using this sound bar for a few weeks now and i have the wireless rear speakers cranked up to MID level with Dolby Atmos set at HIGH level and they're giving me 15 hours of battery back up. I presume the battery back up would reduce a bit if you have them cranked up to HIGH level but i found no need to test them at HIGH level as i find MID level more than adequate for my usage. One thing that helps derive the best back up from the rear speakers is if you manually turn them off using the power button after you are done using the sound bar. I presume the rear speakers remain in stand by mode for a while after you turn off the sound bar and that drains a bit of their battery before they automatically turn off. The single biggest drawback of this sound bar is the fact that it doesn't have a voice enhancement feature that lower priced sound bars from rivals such as Sony have. This wont be an issue with normal shows/movies however if you're watching a show/movie thats heavy on action then you will feel that the dialogue gets muffled and when that happens lowering the bass and cranking up the volume doesn't really help as all that does is make everything else really loud. Talking about the bass, JBL has provided just 5 levels of bass adjustment which I feel is totally ludicrous. JBL expects customers to arrive at the sweet spot when it comes to bass with just 5 levels?? Really??? The bass on this sound bar is totally amazing and the down firing subwoofer really delivers the best bass I’ve heard from a subwoofer. The sound bar just has 3 preset modes to choose from and those are Smart Mode On (Default), Smart Mode Off and Night Mode. Most people will use the sound bar with the Smart Mode turned On as that’s what provides the best experience while watching shows/movies. When it comes to listening to music I found that turning the Smart Mode Off provides a richer experience than keeping the Smart Mode On. That’s it in terms of configurability. There are no other equalizer, treble setting that you can play around with and tailor the sound to your preference. This is a big drawback for the sound bar. As an audiophile I prefer to have additional control and try to tinker with the sound to make it suit my taste however JBL doesn’t allow you to do that. The sound bar does offer a bit of configurability in terms of Dolby Atmos level and Rear Speaker level but that’s about all you get after spending 90 grand on a sound bar. The remote control is just spartan with very few buttons. Buttons to change the sound mode, calibration etc are missing and you will have to press a combination of buttons just make the above changes. Really JBL?? Why not provide us with a fully functional remote after we spend the big bucks on such an expensive system?? At the end of the day it’s a great system however its not phenomenal considering its price. JBL have done a good job however it would’ve been truly phenomenal with greater sound configurability.

I bought this JBL Bar 500 at ₹36k during sale and I must say, sound signature of JBL is AWESOME! Quick disclaimer - You can’t expect proper surround sound from it. But it gets the job done. If you’re a BASS lover then somewhere it’s going to disappoint you. No, I’m not telling that Bass is bad. It’s just PERFECTLY BALANCED. For more boomy sound Sony is preferable. But JBL is something different. Now come to build quality - it’s AWESOME. Feels premium in every aspect. Connectivity - Bluetooth connectivity is good. No issue by any means. But I’m using Apple AirPlay and sound improves a Lot. Also chrome cast will help for Android users also. Finally, if you want to buy a sound bar under 40k and want a perfect symphony of vocal and bass then JBL Bar 500 has no match. Close your eyes and go for it.

Selling defective product online. Paid 59k plus for this product and received a defective product. Amazon told to contact Brand (Jbl) to verify the issue, and refused replacement. Brand inspected and found speaker defective, which they replaced after much denial and refusal. Tull then the replacement elapsed for Amazon. Now Amazon is refusing v to accept the seller responsibility for replacement and pushing to the Brand, where as the Brand is telling. Itnis only giving repairs warranty not replacement. My issue is why I should keep this defective product which is repaired and damaged on the outside when I have paid full amount for Brand new product. This online business is all scam frm Amazon sellers and brands. Pls refrain from buying expensive products from Amazon.

Conclusion - LG is best choice for movies-series & Instrumental music but it has less output lower bass. FINAL VERDICT: *JBL - THE best for ott movies-series *Samsung - For movies-series & vocal songs *Sony - For DJ Party and punchy-music *LG - For movies-series & instrumental music Note: Always experience sound in offline stores like croma or reliance digital don’t judge in online because it’s just an assumption. Don’t consider sound output WATT because it’s just a number in some soundbars lower WATT gives more volume output than higher WATT. So shortlist in online, Experience physically in offline and choose accordingly. GUIDE: First select the sound signature you like then choose the bass you want, later on go for the specification and features. In addition choose a bar which has tweeter’s (it adds more clarity to the vocal and instrument’s) along with race track drivers and subwoofer which has lower bass (you will feel the vibration of bass).
