I'm now enjoying fresh pasts whenever I want it
This pasta maker is great! It's very easy to use, and fresh pasta not only tastes better but also cooks faster than store bought dry pasta. I'm lovin' it. It's very easy to clean if you leave the top open at least overnight. The residual dough dries out and then flakes off very easily. I bought two additional discs and now can make six different pasta shapes. It's pricey, but worth it.

Really works well.
As a long time home cook I have had two previous pasta extruders. This unit produces very nice pasta shapes. It cleans in a very few minutes and is very easy to operate providing you follow the manual. Good value.

Trick to cleaning is let it dry for a few hours/overnite. Super easy!
We love our pasta machine. It tastes so much better than store bought. It's fun to use with kids. Cleaning is super easy if you just let the dough dry out. It comes clean very easy if you do that.

It DOES make GF pasta, but you have to work at it
I bought this machine specifically because I have Celiac Disease and am tired of box pasta that tastes like the box. Wanted to use the GREAT GF pasta recipe in Mary Capone's book, GF Italian Cooking, which is excellent. I asked a question on line about how this machine handles GF pasta and nobody seemed to know except one response "fine". Ordered it anyhow. Right out of the box the manual says to use flour high iin gluten. Called Philips and NOBODY there knew a thing. Phone rep was very nice guy who started reading the manual to me. When I detailed what I needed he still coouldn't come up with an answer. What a shame. They are missing an opportunity to sell too a desperate market! GF people have few options that are truly delicious (there is of course DePuma fresh pa$ta via mail order, but they do not make flat noodles, etc). I forged ahead with the recipe from Mary Capone. Here is the result of a whole day and about a dozen eggs (several batches trashed): The Philips uses their own measuring vessels instead of standard measuring cups. I measured according to Mary's recipe and then remeasured in the "magic" Philips cups. Flour mix was the same, but the liquid was higher in Mary's recipe so I cut back to the recommended amount in the manual even though GF flours tend to absorb liquid differently. Next, make sure you pre--mix the various GF flours before putting in the hopper because you have to add the liquid immediately in order for the dough to mix well before extruding. There isn't much time too waste! The pasta (I made wide pappardelle) was best when the mix in the hopper looked like big crumbs - it doesn't form an actual dough and I think the manual should say something about that. When I tried a batch wiith hand kneaded dough and just wanted to extrude, the disc clogged almost immediiately. The dry looking crumbs seem to compress well and the pasta just sails right out, fairly dry and very separated. It took a lot of fooling around and trial and I kept thinking that a company like Philips should have had somebody knowledgeable on staff and had info available. They provide recipes for all kinds of pasta but none of them are GF. Maybe they provide better customer service on their light bulbs and shavers. It was non-existent here.

Worth every penny
I held off purchasing this item for quite a while. The cost of the unit vs. How much pasta I typically eat just didn't make sense. That being said, I don't regret the purchase for a second! This is incredibly easy to use, easy to clean, small enough store, and makes you wonder how in the world you ate boxed pasta for as long as you did! My favorites are the lasagna and fettuccine. After one failed attempt (and I do mean failed miserably) at making ravioli I purchased a ravioli cutter. Using a couple sheets of the lasagna we made an amazing ravioli that werethe best I've ever had hands down. It takes about as long to boil water as it does to make the pasta so a meal takes no longer to prepare. Look up the three ingredient pasta sauce recipethe next time you're in front of a device and with about two minutes of prep time, five minutes of activity, and forty five minutes of cook time you'll have a plate of pasta that will rival any restaurant dish you've ever tried.Quick update about cleaning. After using take it apart and let it sit on your counter overnight. Once everything dries it will just flake off over a trash can making cleanup a snap.

Does not work! Total failure
The media could not be loaded. We bought this for our daughter who loves making Pasta, but after several tries by my husband working with her, it was a total failure. The dough dis not pushed into the place where the pasta making attachment is. Please see video.I worked for Philips for a long time and believe in their products but this is a total failure.

Great easy way to make fresh noodle
have been making all kind of noodles since I receive it last month. If you can read and follow the recipes in the included booklet, everything will come out as it suppose to. If you take the time to read the instruction manual, the clean up is quick and simple too! I even let my 8 yrs old kid try it and he made a 2 persons batch including clean up within half an hour. The key is the ability to read. LOL

Used a few times and it broke
The front is difficult to be fastened. Every time I need to try several times to get it fastened (I think one side is designed problematic). After several uses, it's broken now. It cannot be powered now, and I am not sure what part is broken.
