I purchased this hard maple to do some inlays into black walnut and I couldn't be happier with it. Very nice wood, good grain and straight. Purchased the 8 pack and it come very well packaged. I will absolutely purchase again.

Beautiful, as expected, exacly what I ordered

I purchased these planks to make dividers for the chess sets I was making. The planks had nice grain and were sanded to a smooth finish. I ripped each board into 1" pieces and made the slots to connect them on the table saw. Many of the planks were slightly thicker than 1/8 inch so I had to use my drum sander to get them all to the same thickness. Even so, it was much easier than trying to make them from larger boards and it saved lots of time. I definitely recommend this company and will use them again if I have the need.

I am refinishing a Les Paul electric guitar. I’m a novice at that so I need to learn how to use finishes and dyes properly. Obviously, I don’t want to be experimenting on my Les Paul so I purchased this because the Les Paul had a maple front.I will learn how to use the finishing products using this purchase before I apply them to the guitar.The only reason I didn’t give everything 5 stars is simply because the price is hard to swallow. I don’t mean it’s expensive compared to similar products offered by others. It’s just VERY expensive to me considering how little lumber there really is here. But I shopped carefully and selected this because it was the best price/quantity I could find.As far as the quality of the maple planks are concerned, they are as close to perfect as I’ve ever seen. The quality even exceeds that of my guitar which is saying a lot. I sure hope I can learn how to do a cherry sunburst finish with these before typing it on my guitar.The guitar body is mahogany so I purchased some of that for the same reason. That is why the photo shows both the maple and the mahogany.

Was really impressed with the quality of the boards and timeliness of shipping. Boards came wrapped in a sturdy box, no damage or bending.

I do a lot of woodworking, but mainly limit myself to smaller projects. This means a lot of keepsake boxes and craft-type products. I’m always on the lookout for a wood supplier, and have come to love Barrington Hardwoods. I’m not sure if it’s a name change, or if this company is a reseller, but the maple I purchased from this shop is some of the best I’ve seen. It’s true and flat, shrink wrapped tightly to preserve shape, and seems to have near-perfect edges all around. I’ve ordered some walnut too, so I’ll add another review when that arrives. I’ve noticed walnut can have cut and teeth marks from the planer that can be difficult to sand down. But if this maple is any indication then I shouldn’t have to worry.
