Slice10512 Pen Cutter, Auto-Retractable Ceramic Blade, Safety Knife, Stays Sharp up to 11x Longer Than Steel Blades

I really like the friendly to fingers design, it’s unbelievable that it cuts cardboard very well and yet not your fingers.I find it clumsy or maybe awkward is a better word. The sliding button which advances the blade out to the cutting position. I think it’s a nice safety feature. I bought a different style of knife that works great but the blade stays in a locked position. I really like the knife with that exception.

Tool is east to hold and feels sturdy. Blade changes are easy. Works as described.

Blade is very short, needs to be a bit longer IMO but maybe that's a safety issue? Otherwise works well for opening bags. I ordered this particular design to fit into a knife block that has a hole for a knife sharpener which I don't own but needed a bag opener, as scissors don't always work on the plastic food bags. This cutter fit perfectly in that hole and overall works better than scissors. Glad I purchased it.

Blade appears slightly duller than a standard steel boxcutter. Not necessarily a bad thing since this means a safer blade for the user. It is also easily able to cut the same materials our standard steel box cutter handles. Sleek design means easy storage and handling which is also a plus.

I was a little hesitant with an auto-retractable blade .. but turns out to be my favorite of all box openers

The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a box cutter to open the constant flow of Amazon boxes that come through our place. I chose a ceramic blade because I felt that the blade would stay sharper longer and therefore just work better longer at opening boxes.When the blade arrived, I felt it was well enough made and that it was ergonomic to hold.I opened my first boxes and it cut through tape and cardboard very good, no snags or hitches.There are only two issues that I have found with this box cutter. 1. There is enough play in the blade as its mounted and relative to the handle that often times I've found the cutting motion to be to not as precise when trying to cut straight. 2. Although I understand that auto retraction is probably better for safety, I would like at least three fixed open positions, especially to open boxes which may have delicate items in them where I would need a reduced cutting depth. If I knew of the first negative prior to purchase, I would have looked for a different box cutter. If these two negative were corrected in a subsequent revision, I think it would be just right.
