Good quality, but have bent a little on roots
I have been using this to loosen the soil around roots I am clearing. They have bent a little, but far less than cheap forks have for me before.

Light Work
This is a very useful tool for light garden border work.It is well made and a pleasure to use it self cleans. I would not use it for vigorous digging on heavy soil Horses for courses.

Nice fork but the bl**dy stickers
Hopefully a good trusted fork but oh why do they put stickers all over it which take 30+ minutes to scrape off with copious amounts of white spirt!

Not replaceable
Although the description gives an unequivocal 10 year guarantee with this fork, the product comes with a big sticker on it saying guarantee is void if used for anything other than ‘tilling or cultivation’. Most folk will buy this (as I did) on the assumption that the never bend guarantee covers all garden usage, getting stubborn roots out, etc, but apparently not.The bit that is most likely to go is the shaft, which is not replaceable as it riveted in place, so as and when it snaps (which they all do eventually), you won’t be able to just buy another and put it on. Overall a so-so garden fork masquerading as a top end professional tool.

Handle is plastic .... How sad ... Also new shape to handle is tricky when you need to turn the fork

Fork me
Ordered fork.. fork showed up.. fork is good. That's about it. This is in contrast to its predecessor, the "Vigoro" brand piece of garbage that I got from Home Depot, with tines that would twist in any passing breeze and a shaft that snapped when I tried to remove a tree root with it. Admittedly so far I've only used this one to turn the compost heap, an application to which it is admirably suited, but it clearly is vastly superior in every respect to the aforementioned piece of garbage. The tines are pointy and hard and the metal sleeve extends much further towards the handle, so there is less torque on the wood and less likelihood of breakage. Looks like better wood too. The handle itself is plastic but it seems sturdy enough. I would not be afraid to tackle a tree root with this one. The only puzzling thing is, why the fork do decent quality garden tools have to be imported from England?

Awsome new fork
this fork is very well designed, and sturdy. I wish i had ordered three more of them. I am a roofing contractor and this will be tested way beyond normal duty. I really like the way the stainless fork meets the handle, its smoothly formed right into the wood portion of the handle, therefore it can not jam while being slid under the roofing materials. I also like the way the handle grip is angled upward, so my knuckles cant be crushed while pushing down against the roof. Will most likely replace all other forks on the crew with these Spear & jackson forks. Thankyou
