I would definitely recommend people to use this rather than a cheap dryer hose wherever possible. It is much more rigid, and made of much more fire-resistant materials. So there is substantially reduced chance of burning your house down. In my case, the previous owner's dryer vent had the dryer plugged straight into it with no extra ducting, which wouldn't have been a problem except the new dryer's vent was in a different spot. Fortunately it was possible, with the point of a knife, a lot of persistence, and more than a few "encouraging words" to convince this duct to slip inside a pipe of the same diameter. So it's more versatile than expected. Seems to be holding well and isn't slipping loose.

Pay NO attention to negative reviews, need a twisting 8” 90 degree offset to go from a hood below to exterior exhaust wall inside a a standard wall cabinet USE THIS! Quality ends and expanding flexible center made a tough job EASY worth every penny.
