These had been rough to get a hold of
I got lucky and found this here on Amazon before they became a little more accessible elsewhere. The Raspberry Pi was very reasonably priced when they selling at absurd prices elsewhere and it worked as expected. The kit included everything needed to get it flashed and turned into a Pi-Hole. If you plan on adding any accessories such as LCD screens or additional peripherals, this is a great one to pick up. The case fit perfectly and I have had no issues with it.

It works and the headers fit my breadboard fine
This board is working fine, I plugged it in while holding the boot select button and it showed up as a drive in Windows. Then I downloaded the micropython-firmware-pico-w-290622.UF2 file from datasheets.raspberrypi(dot)com and dragged and dropped the file onto it and then opened Thonny IDE and it showed up right away.I will caution anyone who uses this board or any Raspberry PI Pico board that you will have to have Windows 10 or you are going to get very frustrated, I have tried this and other pico boards with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and they do not work. They will show up as a drive on those lower versions of Windows if you hold down the boot select button as you plug it in and you will be able to drag and drop the micro python file and have it copy over but it will not work in Thonny without installing very specific drivers. There is a way to get them to work but you have to jump through hoops and go through a very specific procedure to get the proper drivers installed.I was never able to get any pico board to work on my 8.1 machine and just gave up but they work right away with no problems in Windows 10.This board also comes shipped with a nice color pin out diagram sheet a!ong with the micro USB cable.

Fantastic microcontroller with WiFi!
The Raspberry Pi Pico is a fantastic microcontroller. I'm using mine to learn some Python scripting. This controller is perfect for that. It's got a built in temperature sensor, WiFi, and pre-soldered GPIO pins to adds pretty much whatever sensors you want to it.The WiFi isn't going to blow you away but then again, you don't really need super high speed WiFi on a microcontroller really. If you wanted to hook this up to a sensor to check for an open or closed door, measure the temperature, or anything like that you can easily do that via this slower WiFi chip. And so long as you have good signal where you want to use this, you probably won't run into any issues with WiFi.The presoldered pins are really nice too - I tossed this in a breadboard and it just worked right away. It was a little tight going in the breadboard but that's been the case with all the Picos I've used.Overall this is a good starting place for learning about microcontrollers, getting some experience with Python, and the addition of WiFi just opens up a bunch of other projects that you can use this for.

Great starter!
The Pi Pico W with pre-soldered header is an excellent microcontroller board that offers great performance and ease of use. The pre-soldered header makes it easy for beginners to get started without the need for additional soldering tools. The board features a powerful dual-core ARM Cortex-M0+ processor and 264KB of RAM, making it suitable for a variety of projects. The board is also very versatile and can be programmed in various languages such as MicroPython, C, and C++. It comes with a variety of interfaces including UART, I2C, SPI, and GPIO, making it easy to connect to other devices and sensors. One of the notable features of the Pi Pico W is its wireless connectivity, which includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1. This makes it easy to connect to the internet or other devices wirelessly, making it an ideal choice for IoT projects.I was easily able to attach the other various headers i needed and attach this to the breadboard that i also ordered. I would 100% recommend this if you can grab them. The Pi's are getting far and few between right now.

Everything I needed to get up and running
I had mostly given up on trying this platform after the announced availability of the Pico WH model came and went without any updates or explanation as to why it was vaporware. This kit is that Pico W with the headers already installed. It also has a standard USB cable which is compatible with the device's port to connect to your PC. Since it is the official Raspberry Pi module I was able to follow the official website's Pico W instructions to quickly build the webserver which allows you to connect the Pico to wifi, and then serve a page showing the temperature and state of the onboard LED along with buttons to turn the LED on or off. I think it took less than 15 minutes to get that up and running even including getting thonny installed and grabbing the latest firmware and loading it to the Pico. I definitely had a much better experience with this device than trying to get an ESP32 working, though I do miss having a USB Type C interface.
