I love Lisa Eldridge so when I found out that she was bringing out a book about makeup I was ecstatic. It contains exquisite pictures of beautiful vintage makeup and pictures of Lisa's makeup muses such as Brigitte Bardot and Marilyn Monroe. This is a must have for anyone who loves everything about makeup. It contains everything right back to where makeup originated from to how it has been used since then. Absolutely fascinating and a brilliant coffee table book!

I have watched Lisa’s YouTube videos for years and I finally decided to get her book and it is brilliant for anyone who is interested in make up and wants to learn more about its history. Really informative but also beautiful to look at. The narrative is distinctly Lisa and so it is wonderfully written. This would make a lovely gift and also a lovely coffee table book.

Lovely book for anyone interested in make/up through the ages. Great illustrations. Bought this for a birthday present for a beautician.

I devoured the whole book in one sitting. Very informative and also supportive of a person's right to put whatever they want on their face. Makeup is art, it advances through science and it requires talent. Don't treat it lightly. Lisa knows what she's talking about and it's clear that she's also passionate about it. A knowledgeable and dedicated professional is always a good source. The book itself is a high-quality print and I display it proudly.

I have just lapped this up! A wonderful book with info about the history of make-up colours, products, and cosmetic pioneers, as well as changing attitudes to using make-up! Very inspiring and gorgeous pictures. Well written - easy read. Definitely recommended.

This book is so good! It covers some of the major trends in makeup (red lipstick, black eyeliner, foundation, etc.) since time immemorial, and the pictures in the book are beautiful. It doesn't go into detail about each era, as it would probably take several books to do that. It's a great overview and very nicely written. A must-have for anyone who is into makeup. Lisa Eldridge is amazing!

Interesante, bien explicado, bien documentado, con preciosas imágenes y muy didáctico. Aborda la historia del maquillaje no de manera cronológica, sino por bloques temáticos. Muy recomendable para toda aquella persona interesada en la historia del maquillaje. No es un manual de cómo aplicar los productos, sino un libro de historia.

L'ho comprato per regalarlo alla mia compagna che è una fan di Lisa Eldridge da sempre, ma devo dire che è proprio un bel libro che non parla solo dell'autrice e non solo di makeup modermo. A parte la qualità della rilegatura e della stampa, per chi ha una buona conoscenza della lingua inglese, si tratta di un bel viaggio nelle origini e nello sviluppo del costume e del trucco. Un bel libro ben realizzato e proposto ad un costo assolutamente buono.
