The straps themselves are great. Nice and thick. The only problem is that the sizing is off. There is a large difference between the small and the medium. The medium should be a large. There should be a size between small and medium. The large should be XL. Then there should be an XS size since I'm 6'2" 245 lbs, and the small fits me.

I tried to use my gloves from work as a reference point, so I ordered mediums. Having used them for several months, they come in handy when I have to wrap my hands around a wider bar or so. Otherwise, if I had to wrap it around a standard set of dumbbells or barbell, then I would've asked for a small since it would've fit more snug. Currently, I've adjusted to them so they work as intended, just have to wrap them a little more for security.

I'm an average size female lifter who finds it difficult to find weightlifting gear suited for my size. This is the closest I've come, so far. I gave it 4 stars because the loops are still a bit big. I have to place the loops up past my wrists and onto my forearm area for them to work. But they are helpful in allowing me to up my weight resistance for lunges, squats, deadlifts, etc. Also, there are times when I am able to use the loops as handles on my dumbbells, which is also a little break for my grip.

Have used traditional APT straps for 10 years. After tearing through my final pair, I was in the market for no ones. These are a HUGE improvement! First, they are much thicker so the figure 8s don't cut into your wrists and back of your hands. Second, these lock you into the bar much better than regular straps. I use these for bar shrugs with 315+ lbs and I felt absolutely married to the bar. The bar doesn't want to roll out of my hands at all. I didn't expect to like them as much as I did. I was near the top of the size range for a medium, but after reading the reviews I sized down to a small and I'm so glad I did. I'll never to back to regular straps. These are well worth the extra money!

Great Product

I believe in building up grip strength (eg through dead hangs), but for certain things like DLs, I don't have a problem with using straps. I have small hands so I didn't know what type of strap was best. I purchased these Figure 8s, as well as the "regular" straps. In trying both, I simply had an easier time using the Figure 8s, and they fit perfectly. I purchased the size small, even though the sizing puts me at the bottom end of the mediums (my wrist measures 15.5 cm). I've kept the regular straps as a backup, but it's the figure 8s that come with me to the gym. They work great for doing deadlifts with a barbell or dumbbells.

Size runs big. REAL big.I bought these and regular lifting straps. I thought I'd like these far more than I did. Ended up returning them and keeping the work horse lifting straps - more versatile and nearly as much support if you wrap them right.

I wanted to like these straps but unfortunately they aren't up to par. This is my second pair of figure 8 straps.The main issue with figure 8 straps seems to be that they are always too tight or too loose. With the rolling straps, there's a lot more freedom to adjust tightness and prevent cutting circulation off with the wrists.I don't see these being any more effective than the roll type straps except for at extremely heavy loadsSo given the performance difference I can't recommend them for the majority of lifters.
