I have an EEb tuba with rotary valves. This product can certainly be fed through all the bends of my instrument and I have been able to clean it more thoroughly than before. The rotary valves are a problem but that is due to the valve design rather than the cleaning implement. One could get a good swishing effect in the area of these valves with a better result than before. There would be absolutely no difficulty with an instument with piston valves and there is a bit in the kit specifically for cleaning the cylinders.

I recently purchased a used 'G' contrabass bugle and it had not been used for about 8 months. It was in dire need of a good clean and this set helped clean the tubing out. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone with a larger brass instrument.
