Q: does it come with tray liner as shown in pics?

The one I bought did but I also bought the MidWest Deluxe Bolster Pet Bed for Dogs & Cats and it fit the carrier nicely to bring our Adopted 5 Year old 13 pound Miniature Dachshund home.

Q: Does it matter which side the door opens? After getting it together, i noticed mine opens from the left and the picture opens from the right.

This carrier can be assembled to have the door open to the left or the right...clever huh?

Q: Are the bolts metal and included to put together the kennel? Has another flown with this? S will fit my 12 pound cat?

The bolts are metal, but poor quality. My husband used black tie straps in place of some of the bolt.s The kennel is very sturdy and well built. I have not flown a cat in this, but have driven them to the vet. I have two of the kennels. One cat weighs 19 pounds and the other weighs 17 pounds.
