I was amazed at how much hotter this burner was than my standard horseshoe-shaped burner. I do not have a Cal Flame grill but I was able to slip this over the tube on my burner. I had originally tried to add an extension tube but that did not work. I did have to make a metal stand to support it though. The heat is so intense I have to run it on medium to low when searing steaks.
