S**6
International caper orchestrated in Italy with cast of the clueless - 3.5 stars
A mystery with lots of indirection, threats of violence, and dealings in a Ponzi scheme has British MI6, American FBI and large amounts of money stirring on a slow simmer. I thought that the section following an introduction, setting the scene for an international sting operation, had too much attention to glitz and appearance was slow and ponderous. After the long-planned sting took place, the story swiveled in a new direction. It took the last third of the book to explain the unexpected -- there was plenty of unexpected.A human interest sub-story about a Kenyan runner was the best part of the book.

What a show!
I really enjoyed this high-energy, twisty-turning, whodunnit! I was so engrossed with the book that I couldn't put it down until the very end. The ending of The Show was completely unexpected, but not unbelievable. I would definitely recommend this book to avid mystery and thriller readers!I am a part of the ARC team and willingly, excitedly submitted an honest review of the book.

Suspense from the very beginning
Rose and Fairchild are working together on an international manhunt with Rose, masquerading as an on-the-run crypto queen, acting as bait and a reluctant Fairchild providing one of his luxury hotels as the venue. Tension builds from the start because you know that, despite the promises, there is no way that the security services can guarantee Rose's safety. Everyone is a potential assassin and you are left constantly trying to work out who might get to Rose and how. Even when you think you know, you don't! There are some familiar faces from the other books too - some good, some not so good - who also have a part to play. It's particularly good to see the way Rose and Fairchild's relationship has developed which makes it extra nail-biting when their relationship is put at risk.

It's complicated, good though.
My mind was boggled by the complexity of the plot, nearly killing Rose and almost costing Fairchild a chunk of money, or did it as they were playing the con man at his own game although other players were in the game for different reasons. I had to go back a few times to figure out who was who and what their part was but it all made sense in the end.
