Travel Artist Small Metal Palette Cup (1 Cup) Made in Italy Stainless Steel,Screw on Lid & Clip, with Small Opening to Reduce Spills, Air Tight Cap.

I really like this little palette cup, it's small enough to fit in my pochade box and clip on my palette when I go out plein air painting. I fill it with a mixture of walnut oil and Gamsol for thinning oil paints. So far it has not leaked at all. The fine threading on the lid, and rubber gasket is really nice for a tight closure. It holds just enough medium for my outings and doesn't take up much space in my kit. (It's very small... which I like!)I like the sturdy feel, and the shape, which prevents spilling.

Nice pallet cup, and a the quality is adequate for the cost (I paid $9) and the shape is perfect for use with small-ish round brushes (or as an inkwell for dip pens).I never do a big setup, and like to keep things portable, so most everything has to clip to a board or sketchbook, or stay in my off hand; this style of cup definitely fits the bill. Having used some other types of cups (straight cylindrical wells) I can say that I very much prefer this shape as it works on a fairly steep tilt and helps prevent spills, particularly important when everything is hand-held.It's a sturdy steel construction, brass threads, rubber seal, metal clip with large capacity. It has "Italy" stamped on the clip... I'm honestly doubtful that it's Italian-made, but maybe.The only reason this isn't 5 starts are a couple quality issues: first the welds and grinding are just too coarse, and there are a couple of tool marks, a little work with fine sand paper will clean it up, but I feel like that's the manufacturers job; second the clip had sharp edges when it arrived. It's easy to break the sharps with a file, but again, not muh job.It cam with a couple of plastic cups too. Those will come in handy and they're a nice added bonus, but this review is about the metal cup only.

I loved this item when I first got it, but it quickly started rusting inside, and its hard to clean it out. I wish it unscrewed in he middle so i could clean it better.

This is a very nice inkwell, perfect size, about 1/2 - 3/4 ounce. It very well made and seals tight. It also comes with a pair of plastic wells that also seal without leaking.

After taking a second look, I realized that it does only mention one metal tin, but I was expecting 2. When I was browsing and found this product, I was looking for a twin cup thing, and because the picture on this has two, I thought there were two included. Just to be clear, it would be better if the cover image was one cup. Anyway, I haven't used it yet, but it looks nice, lightweight, comes in a little velvet bag, and includes 2 classic plastic palette cups, so thats nice. Not sure its worth the $10, but oh well. Guess it's a lesson in reading carefully before buying.

I dont know why, but the container corrodes very easily. The top can not be removed anymore except with pliers due to corrosion.I dont know why, but it has ruined all the ink I have put in. Black ink turns brown and muddy. I am using Parker ink, and the ink in the glass bottle that I had before this is still perfectly fine.

I wanted the metal one for ink - clip to my sketchbook, and bingo, portable ink well, right? No. It didn't leak, but there was always ink getting gunked up in the screw threads, and then managing to work its way onto my hands and such. It just wasn't a good solution for me. BUT. The plantic ones that come with the metal one are perfectly sized to stick a 1 oz nalgene bottle in (the wide mouth version on Amazon, where the cap is the same diameter as the bottle). It holds nice and tight, so it's like having a clip-on nalgene bottle. No leaks, 30ml capacity... problem solved. Just not the way the seller intended.

3 for one deal. like the classic shape of the metal one but the plastic ones are also great. I put it on the magnet I stuck in my travel watercolour palette.
