Unlike similar hinges, where most of the weight is distributed on the material that your folding ladder is made of, this design causes the weight to be distributed where the hinges come together onto the hinge lips. The hinge is well constructed so I don't foresee a hinge failure due to the way it is designed.

I bought these for a side project. I needed a folding ramp to aid with getting my ice shelter in the bed of my truck. These were strong enough for what I needed. I was able to cut this roller conveyer in half and mount these hinges so it fits in the bed of my truck along with my shelter.

Used these to replace failed (and failing) hinges on folding wooden drop-down attic stairs. These work great and are much sturdier than the original hinges.
