Solid and heavy
Bought this to add to my parents shower wall. Nice ridged grab bar, so their hands won't slip while gripping it. It's not too fat so their hands can easily wrap around it. I got the black matte to match their bathroom fixtures. Easy to install and holds up.

Sturdy
This is an excellent grab bar; I have one for the shower and one near my bathtub. I had difficulty finding a 36" bar in HD and Lowes, but was sure I could find it via AMAZON. The textured section is better than I expected and makes me feel confident when I use it. I have other grab bars with texture, but there is a noticeable improvement. with this.

Great packaging
Painting was incomplete on one flange and there was a red "stain" on the bar that was not surficial. Packaging was best of any items of this type, so no shipping damage at all

Installed this grab bar on the wall of our soaker tub/ shower combo two weeks ago and it's perfect for our needs. Only cons are the ridiculously short screws that would be fine for a towel rack but inadequate to go through tiles, backer board, and firmly into solid wood behind. A grab bar needs to be able to support sudden full body weight so we substituted 3 ½" screws. The round brass cover plates were also a real fiddle as they are a pressure fit that's very tight. All do-able and great in the end so highly recommended.

This is an overpriced bit of tat, don't waste your money. Very shoddy. I have discarded it and replaced it with something much more substantial. Retired chippy
